The new standard for DLC

I bought this game the first day for PC--I thought it was amazing all along, and it has been a delight to watch it evolve into ever better renditions. I'll be coming back to this expansion for years and years. Well done, CDPR.

Controversial changes, implausible plot

The expansion itself is decent, but the story basis is just ridiculous, I also didn't like the reworked skills/perks system this DLC brought to the base game, and I was really disappointed with the invention of (non-switchable) enemy scaling. The new healing items/grenades logic is also weird, but understandable. Also, as of 2.0, there are a lot of issues with the inventory/wardrobe when importing existing saves from 1.63, but it is somewhat expected since 2.0 is supposed to be played from the scratch,

on par with blood and wine

The expansion is about as big as blood and wine in length. Also the expanison as a bit of replayvalue as well as you can't see everything in the expanison in one play through. The new game ending is better in some ways and bad as I think the ending suffer from some bad writing choices as some characters kinda of act out of character in order for the ending to be on par as having a bad outcome with all the other main endings. Dogtown is bascilly an area that was in the main game that wasn't finished and was the other half of pacfica. So it is and isn't a new area techincally as orginally it was suppose to be in the main game but it was left unfinished and inaccessible until now. Dogtown is small but very detailed and has alot of enterable interiors. Gig quests are better than the main game and wish the main game had the same quality of gig quests as Dogtown as most in the main game were lacking. Their new cyberware techinically but unfortunly there is no new cyberarms as I kinda thought at least we would get those flamethrower arms shown off by an npc in the game. Kinda a missed oppurnity. Also the new face cyberware is kind usless as it only effects losing your wanted level and there is no diguse system to it really. Descisons in this expanison have alot more impacts than the main game as descison making and impacts in the base game was mostly relgated to side missons unlike phantom liberty where your descisons in the main missions actully have impacts. although I think it was amissed opportuinty to not incorperated the gambling mini game that was in one of the main missons as an activity you could particpate in, in dogtown. relic skill tree is pretty awesome as well and the new side missions and car stealing activity missons and airdrops.

Does Not Redeem

The endings do not redeem the story. They condemn it further into the depths of horrible gaming writing they've made it out to be. What Dreams or Aspiritions does V actually lose? What actually is achieved by V or Johnny in this DLC, much less the rest of the game? It proves through it's own ending that Arasaka was not incapable of saving us, Alt is not incapable of saving us, methods do exist to save us and this just proves that no one can be bothered to actually help us. There are scenes well acted and I have to say Reed's face is the best animated thing in this whole game, which is sadly not something the rest of the game pulls off. The "mechanic fixes" have actually caused decrease in my enjoyment when I'm limited in Health Inhalers and Grenades to two before a recharge removes the need to craft them, which is a big letdown. Losing some of my Cybernetics as of starting up my old save (for a DLC I never bought) is also a fault I can and will attribute to this DLC I again DO NOT OWN. A Downgrade made to accomadate something I did not pay for. And the fact that our standing with Johnny regarding the new "True Ending" in this DLC does not change his reactions to our choice is also a horribly wasted opportunity. All this DLC to have nothing happen that our character can actually appreciate. Everything you've done, achieved, gained, and lost has been for Nothing. As Johnny Silverhand himself said: "It was a big f*cking Nothingburger".

Microtransactions with few additional steps.

CDPR really dropped the ball with twitch both payed by money and payed by giving up your data to third party "rewards". Despicable behavior.
