I finished the main story after 60 hours.
The city is beautiful, the game characters are great and the story created emotions.
The IA is quite weak, driving cars is strange.
Bugs? Had only two in 60 hours of play so not relevant.
Loved the game, thanks CDRP !
OK, I waited until I fitted the RTX3080 before playing this, so it was 1.6 that I started with (about 2 weeks before 1.61) and never experienced most of the bugs. There's still plenty of them though!
The developers REALLY need to play Mad Max to see how to handle vehicles and driving - the driving in CP is atrocious, easily on a par with Sleeping Dogs. Luckily, driving is rarely necessary but when it is... GARBAGE!
Walking is too fast.
Mods are numerous, I think I have about 40 or so installed - they're also a necessity.
Why is the male V a virtual dwarf?
Good fun, some niggles - look out for it on sale.
I'm really astonished how such a big studio with such a long history with games can create this. The game looks very good at first glance, but there are many stupid bugs that completely breaks the immersion. If you want to play a decent cyberpunk game, play Deus Ex Human Revolution, a 10 years old game.
Overall an experience that was well worth the money, played on PC for the first time and I couldn't stop and finished it 2 weeks ago, I gave it four stars for the reasons below:
- Stability wise the game was ok for me, crashed only around 2-3 times and I played it intensivelly, I did everything that was available in the game, all NCPD stuff, reached max level so it is fine on that regard(over 200-300 hours I think if not more)
- Side quests were amazing, I have three favorites that are easily in my top most memorable moments in all of my gaming experience that actually made me think, feel and care for what's happening, the only small thing I have to say as a downside is the fact that there weren't enough of them, but regarding the ones that were kudos to everyone involved in making them
- Soundtrack&design amazing have even a bunch of tracks that I listen regularly(give Samurai/Refused-Black dog a listen if you don't believe me)and don't even get me talking about the catchy combat music; regarding the design&art of the game I spent quite some time in my Glen apartment just chilling and looking through the window, admiring the city from one of the surrounding hills or parkouring on the rooftops of building, amazing stuff all around
- Regarding bugs the one that I remember and was noticeable and annoying was a bug that kept playing in a infinite loop a charging sound after using an ability(the one that made you invisible) and reloading(mentioned it because I encountered it a lot, reloading the game each time fixed it but it was annoying as I had to do it after every combat hence the - 1 star review)
As a summary if you're unsure but it when it's on discount or simply go full price you won't go wrong with this game and while some bugs exist, they're hardly noticeable overall with some minor exceptions but the way this game makes you feel, think and care when you least expect it makes it definitelly worth it.
Wow, I rarely write reviews for anything , but holy..
This has been such an emotional ride, trough all the story content and side content I managed to get, and actually get depressed by how good the ending was - I literally couldn't stop thinking of how it all turned out in the end.
First of all, I want to get out of the way why I encourage you to not read the top reviews at the moment - most of them are horrible 1 to 3 star ratings just because of the initial release, which was indeed a rollercoaster of bugs and unplayable mess of a game - but in the end , its a product that is well worth your time, effort and most importantly - its entertaining in all core aspects of what makes a videogame - exactly that.
I won't give any spoilers, but for story alone this game is so much worth all the money, in fact, I am definately going to buy an upcoming expansion.
I really love how everything just ties together, the setting, the soundtrack, characters and gameplay loop.
Music is so well chosen specifically for the time period and setting , there are different kinds of radio stations for different strokes of people - want jazz while blasting some chooms ? You got it.
Beautiful scenery when just driving around or doing an objective - its there.
Dynamic combat music is also a godsend, it never gets old to get into gunfights.
Combat is meaty , juicy - whatever you want to call it.
But the meat is the story and the way the characters are presented, makes it so beliavble and down to earth.
Cars are fast and pretty good.
Play it, you wont regret.
I love this game.
Thank you CDPR !
