Fun, but not polished

Cyberpunk 2077 is a good, fun game. It get's a lot right, but misses the cherry on top to make it great. Storytelling and NPCs feel believable, but there aren't many options to change the course of a quest. You get extra lines for certain attribute levels, but usually you can't propose an alternative. Night City looks and feels great, but after a while you start to notice weaknesses. There are parts of Night City which are filled with huge crowds. It feels immersive to walk through them. They might yell at you for bumping into them, but nothing more. Same goes for traffic, which compared to the crowds seems pretty light. Traffic lights turn magically green when you get close, but still the AI manages to get stuck on intersections. If it does, it won't do anything about it. Cars just stop behind an obstacle and do not drive around the. No road rage, no drivers exiting their vehicles, no angry honking. Even if you crash into them, they just don't care. Driving in general is not the game's strong point. It is just traveling. No car chases, no racing or shooting out of the window outside of some missions. Vehicles feel twitchy and extremely hard to control, breaking is a nightmare, and there is no speedo, automatic driving, besides self-aware AI in some cars or voice over gps. I really like the 1st person view from cars. It looks immersive, but turning is way too abrupt and there is zero suspension. There is no way to upgrade your vehicle either and it wouldn't even matter. You get rewarded high-end vehicles form every other mission (so far 2 bikes, 4 cars in my playthrough). Which leads to my biggest gripe, lack of personality and attachment. No new hair cuts or tattoos, no decorating your apartment, romances are a quest line, no side activities with NPCs, you can't paint your guns or cars. Clothing shops have a small randomized inventory. You can't buy the cloth you want and end up picking best stats and look like a clown. Imho not enough for a RPG.

Cyberpunk as fuck, but...

First of all,i m a bit biased, i played the shit out of CP2020, Cybergeneration and even ran a Mekton Zeta campaign taking place after Cybergeneration (i also played a lot of Shadowrun 2nd and 3rd edition), so to tell i love the Cyberpunk Genre... so let's cut to the chase. Cyberpunk is definetly more Cyber than Punk, I mean the world is gorgeous, good writting for some narrative quests, you can play as a transgender (check Johnny Mnemonic and When Gravity Fails and you ll see it s a trope). Impants, High Tech Low Life, Chrome & Neon.... Everything is there, Exept It feels hollow like a shell without ghost : 1 prolog out of 3 makes more sens. There is too much stuffs to do around the city and in the badlands. It has ALL the sins of an AAA Open World... That's why is not Punk at all. On a technical level : okay, on my comp it runs at 30 fps, there is a few studders and hic up from time to time, the npc talks without moving lips or they t pose slide into position.... It definetly lack polish.... I understand they wanted to launch the game before christmas, and honnestly, I'd would have wait till feb to get the complete experience. So far I use a trainer to mess around on the current version and do a legitimate run when the game will bi ''finished" and '"polished". And please : i have to use the QWERTY control rather than reconfiguring it for AZERTY, some key are not rebindible, for instance the key Z is still the key to change objective or change points of interest on the map. And it s obvious the game had a controller gameplay as a main focus. on a scale of 1 to 10 : At the current state, CP2077 derserves a 7.5 and on a five star rate, i would give it a 4 out of 5 rather than a 3. i can't give it a lower grade as i love the game so far regardless of its flaws, not asking for refund. It s not the second comming of Deus Ex....

This is what Far Cry strives to be

Gameplay: I feel it plays a lot more like recent Far Cry titles, but does so on a much higher level. There's a tech tree, but essentially the side missions are a combination of stealth/slaughter/save/steal something/someone with a bit of background and motivation. I challenge myself to be stealthy with a more conservative weapon, but its only because I choose to do so. I liked the shooting - I would say its in-between Fallout 4 and Far Cry games. AI: Do you know what's worse than the fighting AI? The driving AI. The NCPD is a joke - just run 200m and you are apparently in the clear. Companion/"Lead NPC to car" missions are the worst and the AI is even worse than the NCPD/Driver AI combined. They will not follow you even if you try to push them. World: There are choices and the game surely gives you the option to respond with, but rarely are those more consequential than feeling good about speaking your (or your characters) mind or initiating/avoiding conflict. For all its bugs and quirks - stunning. The map is insanely good. A little sparse outside the centre-most districts, but great nonetheless. The small chat you can listen in on feels good, the visuals are amazing. Performance: Ryzen 5 5600x / 32 GB ram / RTX 2070 / 2560x1080@75Hz Medium-ish, no RT, DLSS quality. I get between 60 and 75 fps on the most recent drivers. NO LOADING SCREENS. That's probably the only thing I feel is truly as advertised. Bugs: Apparently, I am in the lucky group of people with reasonable performance and little-to-no real issues. I've had to save/load to fix minor glitches but nothing that ruins my day. Overall: It's not as RPG as I had hoped, does not perform as well as expected, features are missing, some things feel undercooked and overhyped, but it is still a great experience. I intend to finish my playthrough and return to it once the issues are mostly sorted.

There's potential but work must be done.

Preored version. Even thou shop where I bought the game went bankrupt in late 2019 CDPR provided copy of the game - it was big proconsumer move from CDPR side as I didn't have to take part in the shop's insolvency proceedengs to get the game. Prior patch 1.05 Even on 6yo PC environment looks good (low-medium settings, GPU: GTX 970). With 70h in game I've experienced minor visual glitches and several big ones (once car stopped being properly rendered and it crushed the game, I've experienced 3-4 blue screens of death). I haven't checked FPS but I haven't experienced any stuttoring and I'd say game runs smoothly for me. I avoid looking in the mirrors as they are cursed on my PC. Story - I haven't finished it yet. So far I have mixed feelings. I wish origin story was longer with bigger impact on the main plot. V-Jackie cooperation/friendship should be established better. The "we're friends now!" cutscene doesn't work for me and makes his death unimportant. Gameplay - it's fun but it's also absolutely imbalanced. It's also dotted with bugs that decrease overal experience. AI should be improved (for crowd, cars, enemies but also for spawning events - spawning ongoing crime just next to 3 cops investigating crimescene and they do not react at all...), crime system should be added to the game, more non-fighting activieties would be good addition too (e.g. some arcade games could be playable), it shouldn't be possible to buy the same crafting schematics multiple times, values on character sheet are not always correct, end so on. I'd recomened trying this game out cause the city looks stunning and there's huge potential but I hope creators (after clearing the last gen consoles mess) will start adding bits to the world cause it's 'openness' might be seen as rather empty with limited replayability (origin stories are so much underutilised that it's sad).

could be better

Pretty standard game, but with quite a lot that could be better. The story, despite having multiple endings, barely amounts to much the same things essentially occur regardless. There's no happy ending either, all those ending and not that qualifies, not a fan. Game had hype, but it's no better than others; maybe even worse.
