I'm playing the game on Ryzen 3800xt and RTX 2070 and I can't even reach 60fps with the quality mode DLSS without RT, which is INSANE.
I could somehow max out Red Dead Redemption 2 and get a stable 60 but with this it's just impossible without going to medium or low settings.
And it's not just me, even people with 3080 and 3090 are struggling while they should be eating this game for breakfast.
I'm not saying I should be able to activate a few RT settings but at least let me play in raster with a decent framerate.
Leaving bugs, glitches, AI and huge structural problems aside, I'm still heavily disappointed.
If they don't fix performance I'll refund and never give them a cent again.
Important to note is that Cyberpunk is like an unpolished gem. The game has its flaws, bugs and some mega millions EURUSD exploits, BUT nothing game breaking or anything that could distract you from the really well written story and really nice voice over performance.
Sure there are bugs. Sometimes you will held object float around the NPC (cigarette, phone), some NPCs just despawn right in front of the player, police just spawns behind you (but if you run fast and exit the already spawned police LoS you can become anonymous again) and other similar minor issues.
On the flip side you have a beautifully designed city with everything from weapon shops, strip clubs (yes, you can sleep with a hooker), huge billboards and adverts spamming your life from all around you. The NPCs have professionally made voice overs and their face expressions look really really good. I am sad to add here that only exception is Johnny (Keanu).
The game story starts quite strong, then you have the inevitable slow-down, but it quickly picks up again. It is true that no matter the background you choose, you will end up in the mostly similar main story, BUT your dialog options will have different flavour and even dialog options based on what you have chosen. A good example is trying to negotiate with a corporation representative, while also having corporation background. The simple fact that you can slam your fist on the table and call him on his bullshit, just because your character comes from the same corporation is enough in my opinion to differentiate you from a nomad having the same dialog, but without your background knowledge.
The skill and levelling system is rather simplified, but effective to differentiate two characters, I might be playing only using katanas and having implants for incredible speed and avoidance, while somebody else can have eye implants for improved targeting and use snipers and handguns.
Overall nothing in the game deserves the hate it got and can be fixed.
Maybe it's the hype, the decades-worth of personal gaming history, but given how much I loved Witcher 3, I had hoped this would offer a similar level of engagement, character development, world-building and polish. And to some degree it does - in many ways it is a fantastic accomplishment, but this feels kind of a hollow experience, like a cobbling together of cyberpunk themes from various books/movies without really telling a unique story. And the writing isn't great - I guess CDPR had it made with the Witcher series, adapting stories that were tried and tested, and having to write their own story it just feels a bit cookie-cutter cyberpunk.
Tl;dr overhyped, will probably improve somewhat with patches, but not significantly. Disappointed, but then I probably expected too much.
wait until its done. the immersion of this game is stunning at times, well writen characters .. .and all the time you'll get thwon out of it because they release an BETA-Version of the game.
Don't buy, srysly.
