It'll never be an RPG

It doesn't really matter how many updates CDPR push out to try and shore up this sinking ship nothing will change the fact that there's still no role playing elements in this RPG. They would have to write an entirely new story with branching quests, with actual consequences, to come anywhere close to what was promised. I seriously doubt that will ever happen given the company's tendency to go radio silent on this games failures and their refusal to acknowledge their wrongdoings.

Post 1.5 review

Prior to the 1.5 patch - which was supposed to address a number of game play issues and bugs, I had rated Cyberpunk 2077 a solid 4 star, and intended to make it a 5 once some of the annoying (but still playable) bugs were addressed. Enter patch 1.5, the bugs are no longer annoying things that require a work around, they are progress halting, PC freezing. The game got less playable with patch 1.5, things that didn't need to be addressed (imo) like the crafting system, number of mods on items, and skill system got addressed - instead of doing what the game actually neeeded - to fix the bugs and deploy advertised content (firing from a moving vehicle for instance from the drivers seat - there's a lovely video of it in the promotional), multiple player modes, completing more of the world. Instead the bugs are now made worse, and it's been stated that CDProject Red knew this was going to be case, so my view has dropped from a 4 star, to 1. Because a game you can only play until it freezes in the story line is not worth purchasing.

Little delivery on original promises

The game feels far less impactful than Witcher 3. The story/lore is VERY interesting, but it doesn't explore it nearly as much with a rushed-feeling. It's been awhile, and the game has only been 'fixed'; many of the game's original promises are nowhere to be seen. We may get them in DLC, but that's not the base-game. Can we or should we expect a complete overhaul in DLC? The RPG is non-existent, a shallow facade. I have very little desire to revisit this game in it's current state; I replayed the Witcher 3 SIX-EIGHT times across PC and PS4; I plan to revisit Witcher 3 again too.

Good story and memorable characters.

I enjoyed the story, and the game play. I found myself responding emotionally to some characters, such as Jackie. Once I finished it, I had this feeling of sadness that the story was over but also satisfaction to have met all the characters, and traversed the world that fascinates me. Cyberpunk 2077 is a worthy "next" game after Witcher trilogy in my opinion. I did not mind technical issues if there were any, Fallout New Vegas was buggy, I still played the shit out of it. Witcher 3 missing stable boy put me back 3 weeks. Ah well! Anyway, music and sound side of of CP2077 is excellent - varied artists, varied genres, all put together as if part of the narrative setting the mood. YES, WE LOVE PAIN! Top notch, nobody has ever done so such a great job putting so much good music into one game, for a specific game anyway. My opinion though, probably irrelevant to others. Game runs on my EVGA 1080ti FTW3 and Devil Canyon Intel 4 core on medium settings, 4k, 50-70fps.. lovely!

Extremely entertaining

I appreciated the possibility of customization of the combat system and weapons, we can choose ourselves how to behave and approach missions. All of this in an extremely atmospheric cyberpunk ambiance.
