The game was in development for several years, millions dollars poured into marketing and they can't make a game to just start on PC (80 pages of discussion on forum's crash topic and absolutely zero help from development team for 3 days).
You make a game that simply does not work and do nothing about that - you deserve a lowest rating and a ton of refunds. Garbage.
Love the game as far as story and features go, but there's something off with small things:
UI glitches(like disassembled items remaining as ghost icons in inventory until you reenter) Keyboard mappings are a mess: no secondary keybinds some things grouped together in a weird and horribly unintuitive way(like crouch and skip dialog), it seems like layout was just a lazy adaptation from console control scheme. Mouse sometimes feel like fighting a bull as does driving, if this was NFS:Underground I'd be be breaking all the drift records!
There's also issues with conversations when prompts start doing weird things like going out of order or one by one when they are supposed to be together(based on correct behavior after reload). Also incoming calls sometimes crawl over current mission dialog and they start fighting who goes first, or they go as the same time.
There are some weird sound glitches that might not be as back if you generally play run n gun style, but if you are sneaking all that weird out of place and way to loud clanking really start to get annoying. Stealth takedown animations are way too heavy with the camera movements, playing a sneaky Corpo I get seriously disoriented after takedowns. And on the topic of sneaking, sometimes collision boxes seem to glitch and it throws you out of crouch in quite spectacular way.
For me this would be an easy 8-9/10, but amount of these small things adds up to rather unreasonable level that I cannot justify giving it anything above 3/5, I still enjoy the game and play it, so if above issues are addressed I'll change my review.
CP2077 is (as of 12/14/2020) not finished.
There are multiple bug categories:
Graphics: Floating trash/cigaretts/NPC's, very low resolution textures in some parts (despite them working with Quixel megascans), effects (which should only last a 1-2 seconds) can stay permanent
Quests: Some missing Quest objects (for example flamingos), quest characters walking through walls
UI/Inventory: Just not optimized (at least for PC), map with visual errors (AMD 5700XT), buttons get pressed after dragging the map, confusing inventory layout, inventory subwindows staying on the game screen
Story: Not what we were promised. There is no real background from corpo/nomad/streetkid. The changes in them are the start and dialog options with a few lines in quests now and then and a bigger decision at the end. The freedom to progress (as a corpo for example) is just that. I got (after the 'intro') 1 (one) quest related to corpo and one decision to get into some corpo related direction.
AI/Immersion: nearly non-existant. Ordinary people on the street just duck/run away, if you save them in gigs, they don't even thank you, they just keep cowering. On the other hand, if you point your gun on one of them (not even shooting) police spawns in. Yes, they don't arrive in cars, they just spawn in. After loading a savegame, the weather is reset, cops are reset etc.
I was quite hyped for a what i thought would be a good game and was delivered a sorry state end-of-alpha product.
Nothing seems finished besides the scenes with keanu reeves.
Looks good. Too bad its unplayble for me. Do NOT buy it yet. Wait for a massive fix/optimisation and maybe a 20/35% discount. I am still thinking, if I should ask for a refund. After playng the Witcher 3 (and 2 and 1 for that matter) i had trust in CDPR, so i have preordered. Too bad...never again. But alas...i have played the Witcher 3 after 1-2 years after the release (i had all DLC on the package), so i think i have to wait now also at least 6 months to a year to be a good, enjoyble experience.
