I'd really looked forward to play this.
As most AAA games these days it costs some cash.
It took a while to develop and I get that there are stakeholders who want to see some revenue for their investment. I get all that.
Still: I am a gamer, not your stakeholder.
And right now I cannot play this game for 10 minutes straight without a crash.
So my review is based on what I've seen.
And sorry to say: It's bs. Fix the bugs. Or tell me my machine is too old to play your game. Do either of that. But do something.
I would love to offer some critique about the technical or storytelling aspects of Cyberpunk 2077, but I can't. Because even after a 50GB Day 1 patch (which is 5x the size of the game itself) it still won't launch. If CD Projekt Red had to delay this game four times to make it better, then I shudder to think what kind of mess it would've been had they kept to the original release date.
I wanted to like this game so very badly, but alas, it isn't in a state fit to play. I can't recommend that you buy this. It will probably be ironed out enough in another year. Come back then.
... And a really sour taste in the mouth from a game that could have been good if it was scaled down.
A lifeless husk of the city that gets more in the way of rather than help you enjoy the story.
Somehow this rings "anthem" and sadly cdpr lost their street cred with me. I am not angry with the straight out lies in the promotions as I pre-ordered the game on good faith even before that, I'm angry that there was a promise "it'd be ready when it's ready"... And it clearly is not.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
