This game is overloaded with bugs that make it fully unplayable. I left the starting building and the very first thing i did caused a random item screen to appear on the left half of my screen. it remained and cant not be dismissed. I could not find the item in any other part of the game no key or button helped. 1/4 of the screen. This was the first one. totally unplayable game.
The lobby of V's apartment building has dozens of stalls with food/supplies/junk but they have zero interaction. You can't buy anything from them and talking to then just delivers canned responses.
This is a perfect example for the world of Cyberpunk. It looks like a beautiful open world but beneath the very shallow surface it's lacking well substance. That's not to say the story isn't well written but without the living breathing world with NPC's going about their daily routines like we were promised. It just feels shallow.
7 years of hype and they spend their budget on big names and posters instead of AI designers. It's a shame because the deep dive video looked like the start of a helluva game. I really wonder how they messed up this badly.
And how in this world of body modification did the designers fail so utterly to include tattoo parlors or even a barber.
well... what can you say after such marketing campaing -
pros:
- story is rly good and engaging (I mean main and side missions / quests)
- the graphics are great (icluding artwork/visual style)
cons:
- bugs, crashes, gliches, errors etc.- omg there are so many of them, u have to restart your game once in a while to make it work and after some time it's just frustrating
- the AI is just... I don't know what to say anymore, I don't remeber when i saw AI acting so stupid (you can chase with enemy around a table, shoot him 100 times and he just does nothing - CDPR should buy license for Benny Hill music and play it in the background for more immersion in this flop) and it's a major issue taking a lot of fun
- the city is empty and dead - really a metropolis with 5 cars on the street (yeah I choose high density) there is nothing to do besides the missions / quests ?
- shooting is ok but puting 2 clips in enemies head just to see him glitch in closet is just sad
- the gameplay is 2015
- and many many other smaller issues
I rly want to like this game, but something went terribly wrong on development phase, but hey give it a try while it will cost half the price and at least major issues will be fixed...
I am a huge fan of the witcher 3, spending hours in that world, with each quest carefully designed and making me wanting explore more of the world. Sadly, cant say the same thing for cyberpunk, a world that made me tired fairly fast making me questioning what would be the point in doing all the activities that it have.
Story is rushed, characters are never explored, quests are more like "come here and kill those enemies" than story rich content, and the "branch" that you can choose is more how you will complete that quest(stealth or bullet hell like) than what choices of dialogue you will choose. Another beef i have is with the animations and scenes. Ripperdock modifications are nothing more than a change in the inventory, not at all the cinematic gruesome scene i was expecting after the first story mission. They spent extensive time designing a sex scene but couldnt make a scene where you replace your arms or all your bones? Hell, even Red Dead 2, gave us animations on consuming food and drinks instead only of effects showing in your character status like cyberpunk choose to do.
The game is a lot like Deus Ex, and for the fans of that game, they will be right at home with cyberpunk quest and gameplay. But for those who wanted more of a witcher 3, with a charismatic protagonist, npcs that you care about, quest with story rich content, it will be huge disappointment. Wait for a discount than try it. It is not a game i would be picking at full price.
Good
-Great visuals
-combat gameplay
-you can choose how to aproach a mission, stealth, or full on combat
Bad
-bland quests with little story in them. More like "come here and kill those guys". Most(if not all) of them you do only to get money and experience.
-Rushed story
-A LOT of bugs
-Not a lot of dialogues to choose from, becoming linear from early game
-protagonist and NPCs that you dont really care about
-game become repetitive fairly fast
-Huge world, but with a content that make you tire of it fairly fast
