More bugs here than on an ant farm

Oh boy, where should I start? 7 years in the making with numerous delays and we still get a very buggy/glitchy game. CDPR knew how bad it was which is why they denied people from reviewing the game and publishing anything before release date. 1st Red flag right there. Immersion is impossible in the game as of yet. Lots of bugs, glitches, graphical performance issues, oh dont even try to play it with a K/M. Better have those controllers ready. You cant remap any keys which is unacceptable in any PC game, just shows that the main focus was on all the different consols. Gotta milk as much money as possible right? Stealth system is a joke, its broken. NPCs will spot you behind any cover, unless you blind them with hacking which makes everything a joke. Dont even bother getting the game if you're not rocking an NVIDIA gfx card btw, cuz everything was optimised for those. I tested it with an AMD gfx card and it crashed all the time, not to mention that the game looks much much much better with ray tracing. Without it, it looks like a ps3 game most of the time. Characters are also incosistent as all hell. First they tell you before a job to "take it easy calm down dont jump on them they want that", than literally 2 minutes later, the same guy gets all jumpy starts a fight unless you calm him down. In any case, dont get it now, wait a year or two and see if they've fixed their game. Its not like we didnt get used to waiting for this anyway.

Needs More Work

Performance is fine on my rig. The glitches are pretty annoying, nothing gamebreaking at the moment. The menus are awful. Feels like they were built by 2 different groups trying to reconcile if it should be more PC or console freindly.

Icarus the game

CDPR have a crack at a gta style open world, Deus Ex style immersive sim mixed with a crpg. This could have been a killer mix of gameplay elements and story content but game the only really manages to deliver in the story department. The main and bigger side quests and how they branch and weave off one another is akin to the witcher series and deliver great moments, tension, action, emotion and all you will come to expect from a CDPR game. The lesser side content is handled haphazardly, characters you have never heard of or been introduced to prior will call you to offer or give you jobs and there is very little context for them. It would have been nice if these people could be met during the game somehow naturally and the jobs you get given more world and story context. Despite those issues the gameplay loop is still fun and rewarding. Where this truly game falters is in it's world simulation which open world games of this nature really lean on to keep the player engaged and immersed. The AI for pedestrians, police and vehicles are poorly implemented and buggy. AI will spawn right infront of you or despawn as soon as you look away. There don't seem to be any police cars on patrol or gang members in their vehicles. There are so many bad design issues even if the bugs get fixed there is a fundamentally incompetent world simulation supporting the game and CDPR are probably not going to able to fix that. The game is also really buggy which hides some of the bad design, I have encountered too many to count. Heart rending moments spoiled by the audio visual glitches, t posing characters, broken quest lines etc. CDPR bit off more than they could chew and every aspect of the game to various degrees has suffered for it.

not the first time I said....

wtf lol? cdpr was this really necessary? did you really need 8 years to create this? I honestly am baffled at the ridiculous quality of this game and ask myself what have they been doing this entire time? did you guys drop everything you had on the night city aspect and the graphic fidelity? I mean this game is atmospheric and gorgeous but what the hell guys haha? enough of that here is pro and con list to keep this short. Pros: - story is fine although predictable - sidequests are suprisingly good. never expected this level of quality. -night city is atmospheric and beautiful. Cons: -there is a slew of bugs making the game unenjoyable from clipping npcs, to performance issues. -night city feels dead. the whole world feels like scenery. if you are here for next gen open worlds... well you migh be disappointed -keanu reeves... guys there are so many talented VAs out there. why choose the drab voice of this of one? he is the only one in the scene that just doesn't cut it. -RPG elements that serve as scenery.... hey I can open up this door maybe it's only unlockable because of my set of skills? No you can literally go find the other path and never bother investing in that skill. -gameplay reminds me of a bad version of fallout 4. -stealth is a joke and not a particularly good one. -driving needs some overhaul. overall this reminds me of the disappointing fallout 3 release. sure it has it's name but it's not an rpg anymore. it's a streamlined action/adventure where you are forced on a certain path and your decisions serve to further give you that illusion of a choice. hey atleast the story is not as bad as I had imagined and the sidequest are suprisingly good. however is it worth 5 stars? no

Not what was hyped.

Wow, what a rocky start. Crackly audio bugs forcing restart, Ultrawide resolution doesn't always work properly, Swapping between controller and K&M bugs out the controller look. Everywhere you look, physics anomalies, buggy AI, and basically no interactive elements. Can't interact with literally anyone outside the quests, the world and its meatbag npcs are jarring and detached. I have yet to see a single meaningful dialogue choice or gameplay feature unique to my starting role. PC mouse look has some kind of weird acceleration going on, not an option to turn it off. Quite low performance in Ultrawide resolution. I expected an immersive sim with deep RPG and Dialogue and some well implemented gunplay and hacking, but the RPG mechanics are a basic tech tree, and Dialogue has almost fewer options than Fallout 4. This game really feels like it punishes you for looking behind the curtain. Not impressed with the final product, even beyond the bugs. This is not as cohesive an experience as Witcher 3, and I don't believe it lived up to the amount of marketing that was done. Something something transparency with your customers...
