Cyberpunk 2077

I didn't buy into the hype that built up around this game and I'm still dissapointed by it. Game is poorly optimized. Full of bugs - I didn't encounter anything gamebreaking but there are still problems like enemies seeing me through solid walls, talking corpses and upgraded guns showing wrong stat bonuses. RPG elements are almost nonexistent, this basically a shooter, there are hundreds of perks to choose but all of them are just minor stat bonuses, if you wanted to play as a pacifist like in Deus Ex or older Fallout games then too bad. In this game, peace was never an option. City is huge and beautiful yet it feels devoid of life. You can't buy a burger at a diner. You can't dance in a club. You can't hang out with your "friends". Yakuza games have stuff like this and they are made with a fraction of the budget that this game had. Hell, even Witcher 3 had a widely popular Gwent game. Here you have nothing, all there is to do is riding around and shooting people. Hardly a revolution in gaming that we were promised. Bugs at the moment are really bad, that's true. But even when they eventually get fixed this is still a 7/10 game at best. It just lacks meaningful content and no patch is going to fix that.

As per your own guidelines: "Your review should focus on your in-game experience only. Let the game stand entirely on its own merits." I pre-ordered this and I'm not a fan boy as many 5-star reviews here. This game is far from a perfect score. What merits does this have as a PC game if... - You can't rebind keys - You can't tweak graphics options to achieve better performance in your PC hardware. - You can't change TAA to something else. This was supposed to be a PC game review and not a console one. Therefore it looks blurry AF. - Driving is awful, worst feeling I had in a while. - Omni-present police with terrible AI and their aim is just there to "chees/punish" you. - Neon and seizure inducing lights are not breathe taking graphics to me, this might be a matter of taste though. - POOR optimization, I shouldn't need a RTX 3090 to play at 1080p, period. I realized all of this with 50 minutes of playing this games and by the way GOG Support Desk hasn't replied to me for my refund ticket, still waiting. Because of this I can't comment on plot/story and world building. CDPR, you should learn from Halo Infinite's team. Take it on the chin and delay your game 1 more year. Meanwhile I want my money back.

I have been soul crushingly disspointed in a game. The loot system is horrible. The story could have been so much better. Audio and Visual bugs are rampent. It is baffling this is from the devs of the Witcher Trilogy... this is open world Deus Ex + GTA... I SHOULD LOVE THIS GAME!!

Game is beautiful. But looks only get you so far. Peek a little closer, and there isn't much there. Even without the glitches I would wait for a sale before picking up this game. Story is pretty good, but everything else has been done better in other games.

The game does not feel finished at all! I had a rather bug free experience but so much else of the gameplay feels unfinished. Pros: + The story and characters (except the life paths) + The graphics, when it works it's absolutely beatiful! Cons (unfinished): - The introduction to the game, unhelpful and non engaging. - The character customization, gear and the "perks and stats"-system is just not interesting at all - Combat, gets repetetive FAST and uninteresting (I played on Hard which just made enemies into bullet sponges) - Night City, whilst beatiful it gets boring fast and I quit caring. Cyberpunk 2077 is going back on my shelf and if CDPR can survive this I will give their fixed version of the game another chance in 6 months.
