A technical failure

I bought this game at release, and as most people probably know, it was a complete and utter mess at launch. I did plow through it, because the environments and some characters are quite good. Now it's a little over a year later and I decided to install it again to see how much they improved. There is a scene quite early on the game where you're being chased by a van and a gun fight ensues. This is a great time to go get a cup of coffee, because your input does nothing. Shoot or don't, the hostiles will wreck their van anyway as it's scripted that way. The AI is still as dumb as a bag of bricks. Cops still spawn just behind you and barely give chase. You can still block all traffic by putting your car in the road, because the AI don't drive around it. Speaking of traffic, the driving in the game is horrible. I prefer fast travel because I hate the way the cars feel. It can give a good laugh when you crash into other cars though because the physics are complete whack. There's no real pedestrian interaction either. The npcs are like hollow shells. If i were to compare this game to GTA like some people do I'd compare the technical aspects to GTA1, the game from 1997 where the cops gave chase. The driving was better in gta3, released in 2001. Also the inventory is still a mess to handle. The phone is... Honestly they need someone who knows UI design and someone who knows how to program more lifelike AI. The story hasn't changed, sadly. This is purely subjective but I'm not a fan of Johnny Silverhand becoming the story in such a large way. Also your actions don't really mean much in the grand scheme of things. I guess that's why they went from promoting it as a deep rpg to changing it into action adventure. The game is still not what I and many others were promised. Kudos to the art department though. The city is Beautiful

Riddled with bugs and technically behind

Damn, I wouldn't have expected that many bugs and glitches. Even during the intro mission there are stuck animations and teleporting characters. People walking downstairs with their feet sinking in the ground, objects stuck unanimated (eating noodles with chopsticks but the sticks stay in the food), UI elements not going away,... Regarding the game mechanics itself I have to agree with most here. It feels like a console game through and through. Witcher 3 was already pretty abysmal in that regard, but I would call Cyberpunk 2077 unplayable without controller. At least not enjoyable and only with a lot of pain and slow interactions. Forget being Splinter Cell or MGS stealthy in this game. Grabbing and then killing enemies is not a fluid action. It always has a delay of a second or so before you are executing the kill. Hiding and interacting with bodies feels much like Hitman. The driving is horrible, the cars are clearly optimised for controllers. Regarding the character development I didn't dive deep enough into the game, but the first glimpses don't look very deep to me. Customising the look of your character is lacking behind other games without a detailed editor and only that many predefined faces, hairstyles and chest sizes. At least you can pick you genitalia... The world itself feels lifeless. NPCs don't react to your actions unless you kill somebody (which does have heavy consequences, which I quite like). Even running around completely naked doesn't result in any kind of NPC response. At least on my machine there is not much going on on the streets. I would have expected more. The graphics are okayish. Definitely nothing next-gen. Maybe if you have an RTX or something higher tier. With my 1660 Super and a first gen Ryzen 1600 I could play at High settings with a decent performance. Focus seems to be on lights, particles and stuff like that. No fancy textures or animations. Definitely not as good looking as Battlefield V. The immersion is barely average.

Undercooked

The numerous bugs, crashes and graphical glitches will, no doubt, be patched out eventually but there are bigger issues that makes the PC version feel like a lackluster console-port. Keybindings are a good example of this since controllers have fewer buttons but have analog sticks while keyboards are the opposite. This leads to problems with mouse+keyboard gaming like some keys being locked to doing double-duty and having no ability to walk because there is no walking toggle at time of writing. The problem isn't so much what's missing (that can be added later), it's what doesn't seem like was considered at all and the assumptions made in the design of the control scheme for people who don't play with a controller. Textures are flat and NPC animations are very abrubt with little or no flow. It looks like you are in a city of robots. Grand Theft Auto IV had a more flowing animation system for NPCs 12 years ago while the state of animations here mostly resemble Mass Effect: Andromeda. NPCs are ugly. Really far down into uncanny valley territory ugly. Your own character is no exception as the character generator produces an entirely different result than what you will end up seeing in the game and there is, at the time of writing, no way to customize looks after starting. The user interface is cumbersome. It is not clear what you can and can't do in various screens and, for a role-playing game, it seems entirely arbitrary what has weight and what does not meaning you can carry infinite amounts of some things but not others. This breaks immersion. This is just scratching the surface. The game is undercooked and does not deliver on the hype. It's a shallow console-port which will probably satisfy you if you want a fast-paced action game with some great storytelling but if you want a more complex immersive role-playing game, save your money. I would not recommend a purchase.

Disappointment

I want to enjoy this game but I cant, becuse of so many bugs example cant pick up some items becuse they are stuck in the ground, delamaine quest is totaly unplayable for me also many others quests, so many nps stuck in wall and stairs, more I progress trough the game more it all fall apart, performance is biggest issue for me I have rx5700xt r5 3600, 16gb of RAM, and I play it on low, because of low fps areas, some indoor and outdoor areas are like fps blackholes, this is worst performance of any game I ever play And I also doubt that you will fix evrything in next 2 months, you put another impossible date pressure on your developers I will never preorder games from you ever again

Totally Disappointing

Cut down, cut out content, resulting in basically a very much on rails experience. So many broken poorly implemented systems, broken AI. Most of all, beyond the end of the game your in game dialogue choices add up to absolutely nothing, with any choice of decision being simply an illusion of the gameplay. The further you progress the more obvious that Cyberpunk 2077 only presents shallow & repetitive gameplay experience with few if any consequences whatsoever. CDPR need to dig deep and sort this mess out, I for one wont support such a poor effort. Cyberpunk 2077 is a very linear experience being very far away from the promised deep, rich RPG set in an open world, driven by dialouge choice. The game is just a basic looter shooter action game, that's all been done better in the past. Graphics are better than average should you have the hardware to run it well. Been waiting for the game for years and this is the best you can do with all those resources? I'd have far preferred less content done well, not endless filler to pad out the gameplay. I've given the game more than a fair chance with over 100 hours of gameplay. The game we got is not remotely what CDPR promised or even illustrated in official gameplay. Very disappointed, nor in a hurry to listen to such false promises again, what CDPR has done here is fundamentally wrong...
