Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
After updating drivers, make a firewall exemption for the game and re-checked game file integrity, it just keep crashing every 10 minutes or so. Not error codes, no bluescreen, only frame frozen on the screen PC being irresponsive.
Honestly, after the initial delays of release just to make sure its patched and works, it`s quite a dissapointment.
The game is really disappointing. Just low quality except graphics. Empty and shallow world, Zero AI in cars, NPCs or anything really, clumsy controls and lack of tuning thereof, linear storyline. It is also buggy and badly optimised - and i play it on 10600k and 3090.... It is not horrible ... on PC ... and any other game would get 3 stars for this, but here my other point.
CD Project Red lost all the awesome reputation they had with this release. This was the only company i trusted in the game industry (maybe also Larian somewhat). Witcher 3 was a really solid game but it was simpler in many ways than GTA type of game (take AI for example - it is nonexistent there as well but not needed too; Cyberpunk is another matter). Witcher 3 had its issues however but they way CDPR treated it and the awesome DLC they made is just great.
This company is taking this misleading, lying marketing approach, hyping the game, spending millions on marketing, hiding PS4/Xbox issues, banning reviews and lying saying it is "running surprisingly well".... This is not CDPR i loved. I hope you made enough money for selling your reputation.
Unfortunately I dont believe you can make a GTA5 quality game in Cyberpunk world which is what i really hoped for.
I can customize my NPC's dick though - this is where you spent the efforts i guess...
Spent 293 hours in the game according to GOG time. 98% achievement completion (can't get the last achievement unless I start a new game).
I haven't experienced any game breaking bugs. There are some bugs but nothing too bad. Very annoying bugs like dying from a climbing on rocks, unable to get quickhacks from access points because of a bug, and a quest bug that won't complete because NPC won't talk to me (Cuckoo's Nest quest; Jasmine will not talk to me). There were quite a few graphical glitches too.
The stealth mechanic is terrible. I love stealthy gameplay and the first 100 hours or so I was stealthing my way through missions. Enemies will sometimes notice you through walls.
Consumable items in the games are useless. Every single consumable item has the same exact effect.
Too much junk in the world. The ratio for junk and valuable items in the world is too high. Need to reward players for exploration. I like to explore high places, explore hard to reach places, and places that are just out of the way, and the reward I get are almost always literal junk.
The world just feels baron. There are too many locked doors. There are only a handful of buildings you can explore. And it's not much of an exploration since most of the doors in those buildings are locked as well.
The cyberware implants are limited. For the entire 293 hours, I still have two options for eye implants.
There should be a mechanic to respec attributes not just skill points. Let the people have the freedom to try different builds.
The main storyline is really short. People argue that the side quest are where the meat of the game is, but the sidequest are not that great.
Driving around is not as fun as it should be. The minimap is too zoomed in so you'll likely miss a turn if you go fast. Put directions overlay on the road. This is actually in the game as part of a questline. The quest where you have to race has arrows overlay on the road. Why can't they just put that in the main game.
I preordered this game a year before release, making sure I had a machine that could run it great (according to CDPR's initial requirements). The game barely runs. Crashes galore, and when it does run it's a buggy mess. So many of the quests are bugged. Driving is annoying with a minimap that doesn't resize itself. Cars will spawn infront of you. In the distance you can see that the cars are just 2D sprites. The NPC AI is nonexistent.
Serves me right for being hyped, though I wish GOG would have actually issued me a refund.
To make it brief
The Good
-Story overall neatly excetued personal story about trying to save yourself wish only the subplot with AI's and black wall had more to it.
-Johhny Silverhand(Good character impression of John Prick by Keeanu)
-The Characters controls are really slick and responsive and running around the city jumping and sliding are really cool and make you feel like parkour master.
-The stealth mingame Hiding from enemies and man aging their lines of sight with elemnts of enviorment gives a really great immersive feel of baing cyber ninja on the prowl.
The Bad
-Combat system (despite stamina mechanic for mele) and ability to shoot from behind the cover you can see that there were preparations for deeper system coupled with ingame physics however it was abandonded for some reason undisclosed(propably time) This is especially sad as for instance the destructible envioremnt would give the combat mechanics the so much neede feeling of being powerfull and interesting. But it has been scaled back to occasional destructible sign or two
-Cops Who made the decision to make them unhackable and for what reason? Also the saddest part is that NC Cops will never chase with the player with their cars which kills the immersion
-Hacking minigame By the end this minigame becomes tedious and annoying, Nothing on the level of Gwent which was one of the best minigames made apart from Cooking mechanic in Dragons Crown.
Overall this game gives me early Vampire the Masquarade Bloodlines impression a great gem but unpolished and tarnished by wierd design decisions.
Wish it weren't so and hope reds will go No mans sky way out of it but as for now if I could decide to buy this game again I simply wouldn't do so.
