A Heap of disappointment
Oh Dear! What a shame. I admit I had very high expectations, but I would have been happy with a game that met half of my expectations. I have finally finished the game. I did all side missions and most gigs. I basically gave it a decent crack. But I am left feeling empty and disappointed. The bugs can be patched. I will leave them alone as a lot of people have already mentioned the copious amounts of bugs and glitches. I'm sure they will be fixed. It is the aspects of the game that won't, and probably can't be fixed that upset me the most. The broken promises from CDPR. They promised us a game with features that just did not make it into the game. We were promised a deep RPG experience set in a rich world. The RPG aspects are mediocre at best, and the world itself is not rich at all. It looks great. But the hopeless AI is a let down. We were promised a city full of thousands of NPC's living there lives and going about their day according to a robust day and night cycle. This isn't the case, all NPC's are mindless drones that barely do anything, and many of them simply pop in to your view from out of nowhere. The police system is honestly the worst I can ever remember experiencing. Commit a crime and police spawn behind you, even in the middle of the desert with nobody else around. Police don't drive, or actively pursue you. Run down the street a few metres and turn a corner and Voila! You have evaded the police. There is unfinished business all over the place. You can see evidence of it as you are playing. A good example is, I decided to install the 'Gorrilla Arms' cyberware implants, as the description on them at the ripper doc states that they allow you to force open doors and rip turrets out. This is not true, they actually don't do anything except increase your punch damage, despite the description saying otherwise.
