Story is fantastic, but some bugs are kinda annoying (like V become naked in mirror/remote camera view, clothing does not fit to your body etc.).
I guess after few more patch to crush some bugs, this game will become perfect. Until then, 4 star for now.
The story is good -- but driving cars, hacking, and other little mechanics suck big time. And it's excessively demanding on ANY system. I will change my review as they modify it during the next months. As it stands, it's good, but I cannot compare it to the Witcher 3 yet. The Witcher 3 runs flawlessly and it looks gorgeous on my system. Cyberpunk 2077 may get there, but not yet: I either sacrifice FPS (which doesn't look very good), or I nerf the graphics so much, that though fluid at 60 FPS, it starts looking blurry, and ugly -- the blurriness helps a bit there, but it's like looking through Vaseline covered glass. But I do recommend it story-wise.
I've never written a review but seeing people lowering the rating of the game because their PCs can't run it is shaking, so I feel like I have to raise the rating at least a bit.
First of all, if you're still wondering if you should buy or not - you must.
It's the most truthful next-gen game on the market right now. Objectively Cyberpunk 2077 has the best graphics and technologies amidst 2020 games and probably upcoming ones as well.
Then comes the story. Soaked with references Cyberpunk offers a good action-comedy-drama movie, that devours you from the first scene. Characters that you believe in, the storyline that can compete with Hollywood blockbusters and TV-series (and I'm not talking about some Avengers, but The Dark Knight, Star Wars, and Blade Runner).
The gameplay is average. I have to admit it. It's a good looking action with stealth as Deus Ex used to be. Seriously, that's The New Deux Ex. The world structure, gameplay in this world, and augmentations within the main character. That's what we could've gotten from Deus Ex. But we all know how their story ended...
It has parkour and vertical gameplay. When you watch reviews on this game on YouTube nobody drops a word about parkour (at least I've not heard one), but it's here. And it helps players a lot. Say, you don't have enough power to defeat the enemy's camp. You can just fool them by bypassing their security through the top of the building or so. Such a little detail, but the game is full of these details that make you believe in the world developers have created.
Style.
Oh, gosh, this game has the style. It has charisma and attractiveness. The world around you looks exactly like you would've imagined it in your childhood when you dream about SciFi and cyberpunk as a genre. Dreams come true in the city of dreams. You're gonna love it if you like SciFi. Atmosphere CDPR created here is fabulous.
The game has it's cons for sure, but you really don't pay attention to them when you play it.
This is a really great experience so far. It has the best graphics I've ever seen and is interesting in ways other story driven games have lost my attention. I'll come back later and give this another star if it keeps me on my seat like it is. The game takes inspiration from such a wide host of sources that it's too blended up to categorize. I see elements of Johnny Mnemonic, Blade Runner, V for Vendetta, and more. As for games it feels like GTA crosses with Metal Gear Solid V and a bit of Septerra Core with a dash of Dishonored. I haven't experienced much glitching yet and most of it has been minor. It's heads and tails above what most companies shovel out these days. I'm looking forward to the patches that are no doubt in the works that will skyrocket this title to new heights. Well done CDPR!!!
P.S. There is too much smoking in this game. Very happy smell-o-vision doesn't exist yet.
Personally I'm still on my 1st (nomad) playthrough. Even though I'm not done with the main story. The story is captivating the characters that you meet are all very memorable. Lets just say I did cried at some points because the actors and the in game characters have little detales that sells that these are real pepole living in this unforgiving world. The side quest have the same quality as the main quests, and it feels like part of the main quest sometimes with connecting side missions giveing it's own little campaign. Night City is very dense and I've spent a lot of time just driving around. Shooting feels like an actual fps. Better than other rpg-fps games (looking at you Fallout). The blades and fist feel alright, but someting isnt there and I cant put my finger on what.
Before I get negative, I belive with CDPR support this will be a very polished game, and I'm really sad to see such a great game get relised when it's pretty obvious that the game was not ready for release. If CDPR was EA this wouldn't be acceptable. From what CDPR have told us it was a decision from the top and the devs just had to do what they can in the givin time. The managment is the one to blame and its sad that CDPR's "it's ready, when it's ready" was not followed. Especially on the last gen console! I fell like it's only "ready" if you have top of the line spec anything less and you will feel the problems.
Keyboard and mouse support need a lot of work. The biggest one for me was not being able to rebind all keys. The F key can NOT be changed anywhere and likewise with some of the menu keys. Witcher 3 had the same proplems at launch and surprise to see them here
As the time of writing a week after launch, most people have a hard time running the game due to both hardware and game optimazation (looking at console and pc).
