You can't see a thing indoors. You can't see the enemy, the environment, the details of the game, the animation, everything is dark with isolated small brighter spots!. Tons of useless items in inventorty with that annoying noise of menu...
Context: Builk of gameplay is on ver 1.04 with the "Cyberpunk Ready" Nvidia drivers on a decent PC.
I guess to address many other comments you will see around bugs, yes some of the background elements in the game have bugs or odd behaviour (NPCs) - but I encountered no bugs related to quests and certainly nothing that prevented progression. The citizens of Night City are just there as filler to bring life and should be viewed as such.
Story and quests are excellent, with a lot of truly moving moments & interesting conversation options. Romanceable characters are all interesting & unqiue in their own way. If you love great story and characters you will like Cyberpunk 2077.
Combat is fun, with multiple options (Melee, HtH, Steathly handguns, Sniper etc) available and each different style feels different.
Vehicles all handle differently, the Outlaw drives differently to the Shion etc. Yes at 150mph+ they are hard to handle and corner, but that's as it should be. Not GT level of good, but solid enough for an RPG. Honestly only thing that annoyed me was the right hand drive, continuously got in car and drove on wrong side of road!
Skill trees are deep and varied to the point of being overwhelming almost, which is great.
Inventory management does feel a little clunky at times, but still solid. Did encounter some visual bugs with inventory items, but nothing game-breaking.
Crafting system is pretty solid, and best items will come from crafting which is great. Also lets you personlise your looks more.
Netrunning is handled pretty well, with quickhacks being very useful and the system feeling pretty smooth.
Highly recommend. Game will get better in months to come, and as DLC comes out. 5 stars with that in mind and to counter some of the immature negativity.
Bugs can be fixed, but Cyberpunk is fundamentally flawed and here is why.
Your characters background choice makes no impact, leading to the same short montage of how you are good friends with Jackie, which falls flat. The problem does not end with Jackie, most characters (while interesting and life-like) only keep bugging you for help all the time, but never help you back. They dont feel like friends to me and I failed to build any attachment to them. That is most problemtic with Johnny Silverhand, whose ghost you have in your head. He was described as selfish, egomanic terrorist, that immediately tried to kill you, yet at the end the game suddenly tries to illogicaly manipulate you to a friendship with him, claiming, that "he has changed".
The corporations felt the same way, the world is mostly populated by gangs and corporations seem to just mind their own bussines. So when at the end the game suddenly tries to make you hate the "big brother", cuz they kill your friend, you (as a player) had no attachment to and cuz Johnny hated them, it just feels forced.
Unlike Witcher, your V is completely bland and without any character. Your dialogue options are of two types. Yellow, that progress the story and very often you have no choice, so your two yellow options are either YES or YES, said in a slightly different tone. And blue, that are really only questions, serving for an exposition of story or characters. Your V literally plays like an annoying child, that asks "why?" untill you lose patience with him and just stop asking...
And when you add to the storytelling fiasco - bad skill system (+X dmg with X type of weapons style), broken driving and fist fights, sloppy stealth and hacking, uninteresting bullet spongy bosses, with unreasonable higher difficulties, when everything just one shots you and AI throws granades under their own feet...
Even if they iron out all the bugs, the game will be mediocre at best.
This was the true disaster of 2020
Yes, there are many bugs, and some even broke some side jobs for me ... BUT!
Well, the gameplay is fantastic, and that alone would be worth the price, yet the most exciting and engaging thing about this game is the story and the world itself.
It just pulled me in, and I can't get enough of it.
I understand that the bugs and obvious "console" controls may be enough of a deterrent to either buy this game or even rage quit it for some people, but it wasn't enough even to faze me when I immersed myself the World of Cyberpunk.
I don't regret spending a single penny on this game, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will be buying the expansions.
And with the upcoming fixes, the game will only be getting better.
