Cyberpunk 2077

Is it the best game ever made? I hope not. Is it trash? Absolutely no way. Cyberpunk is a deeply flawed game. Most people (who aren't looking to start shit) are going to be able to see through the flaws and find something really, really well crafted. The biggest flaw is the bugs. You will have to restart missions. You might have to choose between reloading an hours-old save or being locked out of a side mission forever. The state of the game, even a month out, is inexcusable. That's to say nothing of the visual glitches, which are everywhere. If you have a low tolerance for this stuff, come back in a year or even more. The gameplay itself is pretty great. You have a lot of options from quickhacks, to stealth, to guns, (even among melee weapons). I made my character a lightning-fast, robo-monk. The game basically turned into DOOM Eternal. Everything is flashy, fast, and fun. The choice is yours and there's a LOT to choose from. The loot is kinda middling. I like the fact that 60 hours in I know I can play for a few hours and get some even better gear if I wanted to. I'm not sure what the marketing was, (or who actually believes any of that shit anymore? Are you new to the hobby?) but what's here is great. Some people don't like the fact that your gear is constantly mismatched. I think it looks hilarious. I've never saved so many pictures of a character before. The story is middling. I liked the characters. Most people hate Keanu's character (which is a sign of a good antagonist,) but my biggest issue is delivery. You get absolutely BOMBARDED with missions in this game. It's absurd and there's no way to stop and do them all. So you come back, 10 hours later, and forget all the details. Everything blends together into dystopian, anti-corporate slogans. Even the main quests start to blend together. Add to the fact that this game expects you to read serious amounts of pulpy garbage, and I wish there was actually less to do. Less to see. There is a dire lack of focus.

I believe in you guys that you can make this game better than that GTA thingy. I was mad that the game was glitchy and has bugs for 2 hours but I was immersed in the story of the game for 6 or 8 hours. This game has glitches and bugs for now but it's not a bad game!

While it was problematic at launch after the patches it runs like a dream, still some minor glitches here and there but; the story is top shelf, graphics beautiful and the hidden stories and history is true to the table RPG it is brilliant in itself. If you take the time to read the info shards etc.. the stories do unfold well. As a PC gamer and table top RPG'er Cyberpunk scratched all the right places and ticked the boxes. For me Witcher series is done better at this stage I would love to see how this can be expanded and extended because there are so many things that can be done. To all those who complained and moaned I get why but I think people need to take a chill pill and stop and think how complex it is to port such a complex game with so much data involved across so many platforms. Keep going CD Red with games like this and the Witcher series as the stories are what make them.

Look I'm not going to lie and say the roll out for this game was perfect. There are problems. Little visual glitches, items floating, stores losing crafting mats, quests bugging out, and such. These can rip you right out of the game. It's not perfect but as a person who played this game with a pen and paper it's so close. In six months time (hopefully) most of the bugs should be squashed.

I was lucky, or wise, enough to order on PC without waiting on the reviews to come out. I can see why people are complaining, especially when the poor sods are experiencing game-breaking bugs. I personally have only seen a few minor issues that required reloading the game and this is reflected in my review score. I won't say much about the graphics and sound. Plenty of other users have stated their opinions and it can be subjective based on expectation and PC specs. I would say, however that this is one of the most immersive and atmospheric games I've played in recent memory - the devs have spent a lot of time making you feel as if you're living in the city. Cars have unique layout and dashboards, you have an impressive 2 nob selections etc. It is a shame that whoever made the cars in the game forgot to include the brakes. I think this game is half-baked but I can see the potential for brilliance. I would definitely return to this after a year, assuming the devs will release the necessary patches and perhaps expand on the game with DLC.
