The perfect plot gives you unforgettable emotions. Full immersion. Feels like the game was made by professionals. I express my gratitude to the developers!
Got 60+hours out of it... patches fixed most of the issues I had with controls, bugs as I was playing... Some stuff could be better sure... but still a great experience.
There is a ton of content. Gameplay is fun. Voice acting is great; though, imo, I actually thought Keanu's delivery was a bit too slow at times. Good soundtrack, but i do wish there were more tracks like "V"; from Marcin Przybylowicz; that one in particular was my fav.
It is not a perfect game at all. But, it is still a really good game. I was torn btw 4/5 and 5/5 (leaned toward 5 perhaps to offset some stuff).
Focusing on the negative..
There is a marginal difference in the "adult scenes" in this game vs. what was in the W3. We (some of us) were under the impression going in that the customization was deep etc. But, is it? The only thing you can change the physical size of in the player creation screen is the players "you-know-what." Yet, i'd say there are more chances to seek that adult "relief" in the W3 than in CP. IMO, it is very bizarre to have so much smut. And, sometimes I believe less is more. Maybe if it's concentrated in a small area it would have more impact? I became numb to it very quickly and it just seemed rather juvenile (understatement).
What is there really to do IF you don't want to rinse/repeat random groups of gangs and you want to take a break from the story?
There were times where I would log into the W3 just to play gwent, or ride around. The driving is not very enjoyable. If you are driving fast the minimap doesn't zoom out so that's not fun if you're thinking of turning. You can't get a haircut etc.
I realize gwent wouldn't be in the game. But, i would have liked something. I remember how "Braindance" was being marketed; as a thing.. But, i concluded, imo, the braindance feature was overhyped.
It's a great game. but, even if there weren't glitches it would still feel a bit like a beta release, imo.
I think there's enough good here to warrant 5/5 or 4/5. But, i still think it needed to be refined etc.
110hrs. in, paused playing bc i'm reconsidering a new build/restart. And, save often! (in case you sell something accidentally..)
I started off wanting to wait until the next 2 major patches came. But I couldn't wait. I went out and bought it... And it's amazing! So much worth it!
BUGS:
Maybe I was just lucky, but I have gotten no major bugs. I maybe got around 7 chrases in my 20-hour playthrough. But AMD reported too, so could just be my graphics drivers(5600xt) I got some small bugs here and there, but nothing game-breaking, and it gave me a good laugh while still keeping me immersed(things like Jackie driving into a wall and such)
THE STORY:
It's fucking awesome! I love it so much. I got an ending I wasn't too glad of, so now I just got an excuse to play through it all again. And I'm more than glad to do it. You really feel the characters, and you shape the story! I love it so much! I was always intrigued and wanted to play more! This is definitely the strongest part of the game!
GAMEPLAY:
This is my first real RPG game. And I'm liking it. The combat is good. Though the AI could be improved. The driving and map size is not very good (half fixable with mods though). I just wish you could change the appearance after you created your character. And maybe find a way to hide or change clothe(without changing stats) I wanna look COOL! Not like a hobo with a pink tee and black broken shorts. But that's just how RPGs are I guess.
CONCLUSION:
I wanted to write more, but there's a limit here, so here's my conclusion:
Its an awesome game! The story is phenomenal, something that games in the past year hasn't done, and its refreshing too see someone to it right. The RPG aspects are also good, though I'm not the person too ask. I really like this game and havent regretted buying it
SHOULD YOU BUY, OR WAIT:
Are you on PC(Or the new-gen consoles)? Do you have powerful hardware(I played with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a Radeon RX 5600XT), do you mind bugs and sometimes crashes? Cant wait to play, until the new patches? THEN BUY IT!
Besides the disastrous launch, Cyberpunk delivers.
BUT - know what to expect. It is not a sandbox, and several gameplay mechanics don't work well. The main story feels a little short compared to the huge size of the game world (3-4 more main missions please) and most fixer quests have no soul. Looting/crafting is no fun. Bad AI. Enemies can't hack like you do.
And the bugs, wow. I had them all: Wildly spinning vehicles, cars falling from the sky, errors in quests that forced me to reload.
But all these flaws didn't keep me from having an intense, deeply rewarding time with the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 delivers one of the greatest stories ever told in video game history, with memorable characters, emotion, passion for art, on the greatest stage you could imagine - Night City.
And that's not all. The game touches questions of economy, politics, philosophy, life & death, destiny, morality, sexuality. And despite ridiculous accusations of homophoby, the game offers a very sensitive and well-made representation of certain minorities.
The endings will keep me thinking for a long time. And the great soundtrack will accompany me even longer.
200+ hours in, finished all quests. And I am going for the next playthrough.
Don't miss this game.
P.S.: I understand everybody deeply disappointed about the condition of the game at release and also now, more than one month later. I feel the same way about this. But I trust the developers that they will fix everything.
Let's just compare CP77 with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - microtransactions in a single player game, poor performance, crashes and game-breaking bugs till today, unnecessary breach mode, rushed story... it was abandoned and never got the overhaul it would have needed.
We know that this will not happen with Cyberpunk.
Dear developers, thank you for this great experience. I can't wait to see more of it.
But please, next time with better QA, a realistic schedule... and with better work conditions for your staff.
