I see no point in anger. I was not hyped about 2077 and was not following the news too much. I expected something like Deus Ex mixup with Omikron. And that is what the game is. It gives you Deus Ex capabilities in an Omikron like world (just without demon creatures). The story is nice for the cyberpunk. The game runs fine with a bit above average settings on my 6 years old PC. Some issues happen but no game-breakers. The game is fine, not a jewel like Witcher 3 though in my opinion but overall it is a good game with lots to do gameplay.
I wanted to give 4 stars only because of some minor things that I would complain in this game. To be honest, I had troubles with the graphic settings first, but google solved it. The shooting part takes some time to get used to, same with the netrunning. But if you understood the game mechanics, it's pretty simple and fun.
I don't get the negative people, guess hype and expectations just have been way too high.
This game is a masterpiece, I only started it recently and have been drawn into the world, the people, the story - the very first bigger mission already made so much fun. There are so many things you can do in the world; I read reviews where people stated some nonsense about nothing is happening - it is just not true.
This Game is receiving a shitstorm for something every game these days has problems with: bugs and glitches. If you are a casual gamer, you have some spare time to enjoy this hobby - then buy it! Play it within the time frame you want to play it, it can be 20 hours or 100 h - your choice. You will not be disappointed. You won't even notice those bugs and glitches. And if you have two days a week you can enjoy your game, then it just does not matter.
And something that may be completely irrelevant: but it's the first time in my gaming history of more than 20 years that an NPC trader was actually helpful and necessary. Finally a place where I can find and purchase useful stuff and not just sell the crap I found in the streets.
FIVE Stars - because the game is not appreciated by the community although it is a masterpiece.
FIVE Stars - because I would recommend already after a few hours with it
FIVE Stars - because it keeps me awake at night for too long :)
This is one of the best RPGs ever made. It's the culmination of at least 20 years+ of first-person RPG gameplay, taking all the innovations of the original Deus Ex, GTA style car play, and top interactive narratives, and combining them into a truly unique and immersive experience. If you're honest. If you're fickle and really upset about the last-gen console versions not living up to top standards (well, wasn't that always obvious, or has game culture really devolved into technical ignorance here?), if you're the type of person who is easily swayed by negative social media led by the perpetually pseudo-offended in order to generate clickbait, or if you're a toxic netizen who enjoys raining on other peoples' parades because trolling is always fun (Shenmue 3 much?), then you're probably going to be snarky and say this is a bad game. However, it's objectively an extraordinary achievement, the bugs aren't that bad and always expected (especially obnoxious criticism given the very same people complained about delays until CDPR accommodated them), and I dare anyone to name another game like it that has the all the same features and scope. You can't; nothing like it exists. So, you've had the better part of a decade of hype to prepare your tech for this masterpiece, so no excuses -- upgrade, buy yourself a proper gaming PC, do whatever you have to do if you're legitimately interested the best comprehensive cyberpunk sim ever made. If not, then go do something else with your life? I dunno what else to tell you. Maybe being objective and reasonable with your expectations, and happy that cool stuff like this gets to exist because of CD Projekt's efforts, makes for a better life? I'm disgusted by what gaming culture is becoming. Just gonna enjoy my new game. Thanks, devs.
So this is for the 1.04 version of the game.
My rig has a processor from 2014 (i5-4670, not OCed), 8GB of RAM and an Radeon RX590. The glitches reported (loading of textures/models) happens seldom (in the pre-act 1 cinematic with the bought car) and maybe during gameplay but I have not noticed it yet. I run the game mostly on high to medium settings. Gameplay itself is fluid but I had not much of racing yet.
So I attribut the loading things to not having an SSD as is recommended.
All in all I can not follow the gripe and vitriol here.
The city has more life than London in WD Legion. It feels more dynamic and populated.
The story so far is interesting and especially the soleplay vs shoot'em up is definetily more on the roleplay side.
Only minor point I have... 1st person perspective but this was known ( yes I play Fallout and Elder Scrolls in 3rd person).
Over 40 hours in and I love this game so far. 1 star off for all the various bugs. Luckily nothing really game breaking. Only had 1 crash but that was before the 1.04 patch. Luckily I'm not playing it on console.
