This game has such a great combination of gritty futuristic dystopia and a held hope by the citizens you interact with that things can be better. Makkes me want to fight for the Night City that people wish for. Additionally, have been having an asbolute blast taking charge of every obstacle, while never being seen by any enemy. The long wait has been worth it, mentally truly lost in this neo-noir action hacking flick.
I have fun with this game about 150 hours.
There is no problem run this game with the GTX980m laptop
Now this game has many bugs but it can still be played.
The story of this game is very interesting,
The character’s background story is very well written.
With deep RPG system, this game is very good.
There are two obvious problems
1. Cannot craft multiple items at the same time.
2. AI is very stupid.
Technically, nothing to say. It's Cyberpunk after all. It runs surprisingly well (no pun intended) on both my systems powered one by a Vega 64 and another with a RTX 3070. I was not expecting it to run so well on a almost 4 years old card, and in 2k\high...not even in hundred years. But it does.
Now, the thing that really put me down is braindead NPC and absolutely no dialogue for casual NPCs...cmon....Final fantasy VI had more lines of dialogue for NPC...
And don't let me started on the horrendous Physical Engine this game uses. It behave like a ps2 game from 2002, collision detection is trash, Ragdol is hot trash, driving physics are a dumpster fire because cars pivot on their mass center when turning, like the worst racing games. they behave like those toy trackcar with a swiver under them jammed in the rail in the middle of the road. Horrible.,
But who cares, the story, acting and world building are AMAZING. I'm sure they will fix those problems, nothing that canìt be patched
Well those madlads have done it - they made a FarCry game in a big, sprawling city. All the things you normally expect - comm towers, strongholds (criminal bounties), random encounters (cop activity), templated side missions for a consistent cast of characters. Any gun will get you through, any combo of skills will get you through, and the guns, armor and hacking programs are more for collection than any real difference.
It even has a couple of candidates for Vas 2.0!
Alright, jokes aside.
Gameplay - I think the biggest misstep was making it essentially a resource shooter, like System/Bioshock - as long as you 1. have enough bullets and 2. have enough healing (both of which is nearly always), you always win combat, which is the majority of the game. So, like Bioshock, it becomes a carefree ride of shiny splosions until the next bit of story-relevant cinematics comes up. But make your peace with that - and it's totally great. The rest doesn't matter - it's not a hard game, even on hardest.
Story - Yep, shiny and might say traditional cyberpunk. No complaints. Without spoilers, not enough time was spent with certain characters or concepts backgrounds to make the emotional impact they were clearly hoping for, but no big deal. It's still conveyed expertly and the story can progress, even if you're in your chair going "yep, get it, we're angry now, rawr...".
Visuals - excellent, don't think there's disagreement anywhere.
Sound/Voice - Big highs, almost no lows. By the midgame, I was even converted to liking The Reeves deadpan delivery of everything.
You will never find the Witcher 3 unicorn again, don't go looking, you'll go mad. Cyberpunk ain't no masterpiece, but it's still damn good.
Since I played this on the PC I've been one of the lucky ones. There were plenty of glitches, but nothing I haven't seen before in 20 years of gaming, and nothing that made the game unenjoyable.
I'm mainly into games for the story and experience. What Cyberpunk does incredibly well is world-building. You can wander in this city for hours and still find new cool stuff to marvel at. In terms of story-telling, though, this game was remarkably linear.
This was disappointing, since all the hype for the game was about how replayable it was and how much it focused on player choice.
OK OK yes there's 3 life paths to choose from, but they really only impact the first few hours of the game, and maybe add an extra side quest for you to do (the corpo side quest was extremely short and disappointing). And there's a million little extra jobs you can do, if you're a completionist who likes completing tasks. And you can build your character in a bunch of different ways (though they're essentially all different shades of a combat character. Even my stealth/netrunner character cleared out rooms using one or two daemons, but if you want to solve problems with trickery and dialogue, this game doesn't let you).
I compare this game to Deus Ex because anyone who's played those games knows it's famous for its endings. Namely, you play through a bunch of missions and then get to an obvious point that chooses the ending for you (in one of the games, literally push button 1 for ending 1, button 2 for ending 2 etc.)
In other words, your carefully crafted character, your considered responses to previous dilemmas... none of it actually matters in terms of the final outcome of the game. These choices might open up a few additional side jobs along the way, but overall the game is actually very linear.
Definitely suffered for the over-hype of the marketing on this game, but hey it's still a solid and enjoyable gaming experience. I'd give it 3.5.
