An enjoyable, if flawed, CRPG

I will first preface this by saying that I did not follow any of the coverage of this game over the last few years, and went in with few prior expectations. I also have a PC which meets the recommended requirements, but only just. The core of the game is good and enjoyable. Night City is aesthetically interesting and has a lot of unique districts, and the main story as well as main sidequests are quite good, and always kept me interested. V's male voice actor is a bit flat at times, but otherwise the acting is solid. The random gigs do get repetitive after a while, but the larger quests provide enough content to satisfy me. One thing I will say is that, relative to a game like Bloodlines, or Dragon Age, there is fairly limited opportunity to roleplay a specific character. Now, as to the infamous bugs: they're there, but they weren't that bad on my machine. I had only one crash in like 90 hours, and only two or three times that I had to restart the program to fix a bug. I did have some occasional weirdness that ranged from funny to annoying, and one very minor sidequest that was uncompletable. One thing I found annoying is that it can be difficult to pick up items. There are other oversights that are more serious, though, mainly related to AI. Traffic AI is absolutely terrible and unfinished. Cars do not know how to get around obstacles, and often stop in the road for no reason at all, causing traffic jams and problems for the player; get used to driving on an overpass at 100 mph only to crash into a stationary car in the middle of the road. Bystanders are really skittish, and will go crazy and cower any time you drive into a parking lot. There are more vehicle problems beyond this that I won't go into. On the whole, I liked the game and will be checking out the expansions when they're released. However, I would call it more "Outer Worlds"-good than Morrowind-fantastic. I also feel that it should have been further delayed to fix the major issues mentioned above.

Loving it, but still WIP

It is one of the best RPG's I have ever played based on Storrytelling and Characters. It really got me. Some say that the Lifepaths should have more impact to Story but in my opinion it feels more like you have an impact based on what you do and not where are you from. In my 120hrs I have had some minor Bugs, no chrashes. In Focus of Gameplay there is still work needed. Weapon's and armours need balancing, Car handling feels clunky and some quality of life features are missing. Dismanteling and crafting takes to long, can't storage all iconic items in chest.

Great but held together by duct tape

I played for 60+ hours, experienced all the different endings, and completed most of the side quests. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly for Cyberpunk 2077 (1.06.): The Good: - The writing is great, the characters are memorable, the emotional attachment for the main story is definitely there - Mature themes - definitely 18+ (very rare for mainstream games) - Night city and the world itself is fantastic - Many side quests (that are not gigs) are also great, some of them having multiple outcomes - The visuals (when they are not bugged out, and if you have a medium/high-tier PC) are amazing - Most of the music is excellent The Bad: - An illusion of choice. Your lifepaths, your looks or whether you choose to be combat- or stealth-focused simply don't matter at all. Yes, if you complete some optional story arcs, you can influence the ending of the game but that's pretty much it. - The open world elements are shallow. Nothing to do besides the quests. They even have lots of arcade machines and you cannot interact with them! Pedestrian and police AI is almost non-existent. - Same thing with the romances. Once you finish a side quest with a romance option, that's pretty much it apart from 1-2 extra dialogues. - Some of the storylines feels rushed. In one side-quest, you stumble upon a huge conspiracy...and it just ends there. The Ugly: - Contrary to the promotional material, this is an action-adventure immersive sim and NOT an RPG, not even a fully realized GTA-like game. This is a huge fault of the marketing department. - Many immersion-breaking bugs, barely functional collision detection - "Runs surprising well on current-gen consoles" and "we leave greed to others" certainly didn't age well. Considering what Cyberpunk is mostly about, the irony is astounding. All goodwill from Witcher 3 is simply lost. So yeah, apart from the bugs, I enjoyed the game for what it was and felt really immersed in its world...which is obviously held together by duct tape.

Cyberpunk

I've played the game for a while and i enjoy the story, game play, the futuristic setting, the upgrades and how they are implemented. in my play through i have only experienced minimal bugs and none that are game breaking. the down sides are it feels like a GTA clone at times and the bugs i understand other people have had significant issues playing cyberpunk, if i could say one thing to cd projekt red i would say please consider releasing the game in "early access" if you feel the game isn't polished enough.

Not perfect, still great.

Yes. There are bugs (crash if I reload after death is most troublesome I encountered). Yes, car control is ... not good. But hell yeah, I love the game. Looks great even on lowest settings. And my old computer can run it very smoothly (yeah, I have old computer, that is why low settings. And yes, I even have win 7 and still it works). I love my V. I enjoy the character a lot. NPCs are enjoyable to interact with, story is nice and sidequests are great. So yes, it is not perfect, but still great game.
