Great game.
Just keep in mind it *doesn't* work with Windows 8. Not without installing a virtual machine to play it.

Awesome nostalgy
When you ask me to think about best RTS space games, this is what pops out right after Sins of Solar. Actually this one is way way older. Still love it !

Flawed, but decent.
When you actually make it run properly on modern systems by pasting dgvoodoo dll files into the folder the game is quite decent overal. Supply mechanics break the pace of action.

RTS how it should be.
Most RTS games nowadays have become too dull and straight forward with the simple goal of "Amass army, swarm opponent", even one of my favorites is starting to become unenjoyable because of this simple fact, forcing me to play single player or special gametypes. But this, this game makes you think about your strategies and approaches to attacking your enemy. Each new system you enter is always different and dangerous as some areas of the system would bring about difficulties navigating or engaging combat. On top of that, your units are all valuable in some way, unlike most RTS where once you've reached a certain technology level, your basic units are kept back for base defense while the heavier ones are sent out for the assault. With this, even the lowliest of Corvettes can make a huge difference in defending against a squadron of small fighters that the rest of your ships can't target. The list is long on the different basic units that could turn the tides of battle with their abilities that can one easily overlook. If you don't believe me, then either test it for yourself, or do your research. Either way, if you're looking for a different pace from major RTS games, then this game is a game for you.

Acceptable piece, but rather old
Due the compatbility issues, i wouldn't go over 3 star. Offers fun, playable (yet just couple of hours i did), but hard to follow where to start with training etc. I was unsure wether i shall just buy a new game for higher price or downgrade to an older Windows system (or just emulate with a virtual machine) and buy this. Compatibility issue might be solved if you want to contact support here, so you will end up at a recommended download. Download that pack (basically fixes graphic and sound crash issue with voodoo and etc. emulation) and you can play it (most likely... I got it to work under Windows 10 64 bit). Anyway, i am aware the text says it is intended to work only on older systems, just fyi guys.
