Description
From Julian Gollop, the designer of the original, award-winning XCOM game comes Chaos Reborn - a fast paced, turn-based wizard combat with the tactical positioning of chess and the bluffing / odds calculation of poker.
WARNING - superb RNG management skills required! Or just have fun.
You play the role of a fighting wizard armed with a selection of spells and magical staff. Some spells summon creatures but others are more exotic, such as the Gooey Blob which spreads uncontrollably across the terrain. The balance between Law and Chaos can be altered to your advantage, or you can cast illusions to deceive your adversaries. It’s a game of bluff, tactics, and calculated risks with nail-biting decisions from one turn to the next.
Turn based wizard tactics for 1-4 players
Multiplayer battles with live or asynchronous play and monthly league competion
Offline Realm Quest Campaign, and online single-player Realm Quests created by players, with co-op vs AI and invading other players’ realms.
Note: This game may require additional serial key for multiplayer mode. In case it is not automatically generated in your GOG.com library (open it via website → select the game → More → Serial Keys), please reach out to our Support team.

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
At first it reminded me a lot on mtg. It is really fun to play.
Indeed it requires a CD provided by GOG. Not sure what to think about it yet.
OnLinux the start.sh caused graphical errors which makes it unable to play but GOG support and Forum were really helpful. One can just start the binary directly and the game will start just fine.
The game is challenging, and enjoyable. From the multiplayer perspective, there just aren't enough players out there to make it worthwhile.
The game is constantly being upgraded, be sure to stay up on your patches.
Just don't expect much out of multiplayer, just not enough people playing it.
I'm not the best tactical game player and that's why I like to take it slowly to make sure I got my units well positioned, specially since the summoner is pretty squishy and apparently enemies can summon uniits like the zerg, imagine my suprise when I ran out of turns during the second tutorial mission, which is a shame, definetively not for me.
I was already finding the game a grind before I'd gotten half way through the tutorial!
So I tried a few campaign battles, but they were largely the same.
The graphics are decent enough, but the interface is lacking in what information it gives you about your units, and the entire thing just feels like it needed another few months of polish.
I gave up after about an hour. This genre of game isn't my very-favourite, but i've played most of the Kings Bounty series, so I'm a fairly old-hand at them. For me at least: Not worth it.
Great production and mechanics....
But finishing tutorials was like a full campaign.... Only for for the battle part.
I.. enjoyed that campaign.
Then once you are done, you try Realms. You don't really know what you are doing, you fight, "recruit", die, retry...
I got lost.
That wasn't enjoyable.
I abandonned game.
