Fun Casual Action RPG
Having played the iOS version of Cat Quest multiple times on an iPhone 6S, I came to the version that GOG is selling with some expectations and was not disappointed. The primary difference between the two is that that the iOS version uses touch controls entirely where you tap the screen to move around, attack, cast spells, etc. The GOG PC version claims to support controllers but as I do not own one, it instead uses WASD controls for movement plus the mouse for combat where you left click to attack with the equipped weapon and right-click to cast spells. Although this difference initially required some adjustments that resulted in a few early deaths, I found that the WASD controls were actually easier and better once I got used to them. I wasn't finding myself accidentally running away from an enemy that I wanted to attack (which is something that happened more than once in the iOS version.) This difference in controls was most apparent when fighting the mimics to obtain the golden key, which took several attempts on iOS but was completed on the first try on the GOG PC version. If there is a complaint, it is that the random nature of equipment drops can make the game feel more difficult that it actually is early on. Ideally you should be only hitting dungeons because it is new, you want the gold key chest or were led there due to a quest. If you find yourself grinding out experience, try looking for side-quests and dungeons around your level range.
