c3
great game, but I don't think GOG has the release date correct. I bough C3 around nov/dec 1998, still have a receipt to prove it :-)

Hail Governor, your city awaits.
As a provincial governor charged with spreading the glory of Rome our mission is clear: build cities, foster trade and industry, make money. How you accomplish this is entirely up to you. Gain wealth and power, make a career out of pleasing the emperor, battle Barbarians and repel invaders, or concentrate on building the next Eternal City. Fail and you’ll end up as lunch for the lions. Prove your strength of mind and spirit and you just may be crowned Caesar!

All time favorite
I've been playing Caesar 3 for about 5 years. This game is definitely a complex game to figure out at first when it comes to the cash flow. This game is great for building cities, however if your city get's too large you need to be able to have more control over the supply lines. Because you dont your city falls apart when you take over 1/2 the large map or so. Great game.

A Sim Game at it's finest
This is one of the most addicting games ever. I can honestly say that I wasted an entire summer playing this game when it first came out. The developer knew exactly what they were doing. Since this is a "GOG" it's not perfect, but it's damn close. Definitely buy this game if you're into simulation and sandbox building!

A Major Wonderful Time Sink
Plebs are needed! I spent many, many evenings on this game. It remains one of my favorite sim games next to SimCity. Unfortunately, I could not install my old CD copy of the C3 because Win 7 64-bit cannot run the startup.exe. GoG has solved that problem, bringing back a true classic that still holds up today.

Caesar 3 is Great
I've spent so many hours playing this surprisingly difficult game that I've had to take breaks in order to let my laptop cool down. The time spent waiting is spent thinking of new ways to layout my cities and modifying my grid of roads. Loading times are almost nonexistent; the time from double-clicking the icon to playing the game is about 5-7 seconds. The game is incredibly deep and complex and will take a very extended period of time to complete. In other, less verbose, phrasing: I highly recommend Caesar 3.
