Builders Of Egypt is an economic type of city-building taking place in the valley of the Nile. The story starts in a little-known protodynastic period in which you will be able to observe the birth of the Old Egypt and finished with the death of Cleopatra VII.

The most important aspect is the skillful management of urban planning by shaping the grid of streets, placing buildings and their mutual relation. Well-designed city will greatly improve economic efficiency which may convert into city income.

Diplomacy and politics:
The governor will face very difficult choices to be made in a constantly changing political environment. Costly expeditions, Pharaoh and other cities requests, military threat and a mixture of different cultures will be a commonplace. A series of wrong choices can cost the loss of trading partners and low interest in the city by settlers. Moreover, the total lack of obedience to the rulers may end up with a civil war.

Religion:
Deity will be able to interfere with daily life but it will be done implicitly. The main aspect of religion will be satisfying the need for access to the places of worship, providing supplies for temples or organizing festivals. Neglecting this sphere may result in a dangerous social unrest on a par with e.g. famine.

Trade:
Trade is the most important element in royal treasury. Without it, it is very difficult for economic stability built solely on taxes. Therefore, in the interest of the player, producing goods for export at prices that will be able to change dynamically depending on the geopolitical situation, will be required.

Monuments:
What would the real Ancient Egypt be without its monumental sacred architecture? There are mastabas, obelisks, Karnak among others, the Ramesseum and of course the pyramids that are waiting to be built. You will be able to observe the slow process of construction. A team of carpenters, masons, architects and ordinary workers will rise building step by step. It will not be just a graphic feature - the building process is costly and will have an impact on the finances or the public mood.

War
Egypt's history is full of clashes of emerging and failing empires. You will have the responsibility of defending cities from foreign military attacks, making plans to attack and joining your forces on Pharaoh's own call.

Terrible UI

It's just too clunky and unintuitive. I find myself clicking on all sorts of things trying to figure out how to actually do what I'm trying to do. I played for almost 2 hours, and even after a restart I couldn't get them to make bricks. I'd go to the city I'm supposed to be exporting to but you can't change the dials or do anything. Stop over complicating everything. What is the point? Is this supposed to reduce micromanagement by having some AI do the work for you, assuming you assign the correct priorities? I'd rather just tell a f'ing building "make 10 bricks". Not sit here scratching my head for an hour wondering why tf it won't make bricks. It also isn't multi monitor friendly. All of the buildings are on a side bar (rookie move), and then on top of that there is no cage for your cursor. Meaning, every time I go to the side bar to make a building, I have to aim carefully not to click on my other monitor. It's annoying to say the least. Needs a lot of work, but maybe that's why it's taking so long. If these things aren't fixed by early access, it will get hammered and probably forgotten.

Overblown knockoff of Pharaoh

literally the same gameplay, with unnecessarily resource-heavy coding and graphics. Save your money, buy the original instead.

Unable to get it to work

I'm new to gaming and use a laptop so trying a few demo versions to see what I like. Unfortunately I couldn't get this game to work. When I selected an item (house) and placed it on the ground I couldn't work out how to de-select it with mouse or keyboard. Also the text and icons were too small to read and the automatic scrolling text was the wrong pace for me to read it. As a beginner I appreciate games that start with a tutorial or guide you for the first 5 or 10 turns so people like me can see how to build homes, roads and then have a 'help' button at the side. Maybe in time it will grow to a good game - there is potential as lots of levels and complexity.

Not as expected

I played the demo version of the game for a while. It works great and the plot is well throught out, but it didn't meet my expectations. The 3D graphics were great effort, but not yet there. Game mechanics are pretty easy, but the tutorial wasn't throough enough which made the game confusing. Overall, good effort, but not the game for me.
