Brigador: Up-Armored Deluxe

I first learned of this game when watching Mandalore gaming and thought it looked amazing. After purchasing and playing it, I can confirm that it both looks and plays incredibly. The vehichles look and feel incredible to control, especially if you use relative movement. The soundtrack is a banger and the Deluxe edition has an amazing amount of goodies which are great if you love the game. The gameplay is fun and endlessley replayable and the writing is a standout which is saying something. I cannot recommend this game more. Get it!

I like it because of the cyberpunk vibe, due to nice cute graphics, and of course Retrowave/Synthwave music which is big plus for me. Linux support another big plus. The story and setting are believable. Also there is a cool balance of chilling when circling around the civilians trying not to hurt them, and action, crashing walls and some buildings and shooting the armed enemies and tanks. If I am supposed to free the distant colonial planet, I should be careful about civilian and the infrastructure -right ? :-)

If you aren't sure about this game, just try it. One of the most satisfying "I can play this for 10 minutes or 3 hours" games I've ever played. Comparable to Enter The Gungeon, Synthetik, and other roguelites. It takes some getting used to, and the progression system baffled me at first (there's a separate menu to buy all the things you can see but not access in the regular mission menus) but goddamn, I haven't had this much fun making everything on the screen explode since the first time I played Just Cause. Can't wait for the sequel, need more mechs(antigravs and tanks are fun and all but...) and the ability to equip more than 2 weapons at a time. Aside from that, zero complaints. You can make the freelance missions as challenging or as much of a power fantasy as you like.

This wasn't a game I expected to like but to my shock it's one of the most aesthetic and engaging titles I've played in years. A slick soundtrack, deliberate retro-visuals without the technical drawbacks, an unconventional yet engaging story told through worldbuilding... and oodles and oodles of shooting and explosions. It's a genuine shame that this game got overlooked, it reflects what used to be great about game development.

Brigador is awesome. Play as a galactic superpilot in a giant mech brawler, a pathetic nobody in a rikshaw with guns and everything in between. One of my favorite playstyles is the sneaky artillery platform. This is also one of the 0.1% of games where the story is actually worth reading. Everything in sight can be destroyed 10/10
