Blades of Time

I just beat the game. Everything about this game was right up my alley. It's a fast-paced character action game. There's a distinct lack of the usual BS you get in games. No absurdly big fall damage or annoying controls. Moving and fighting feels good. It has a bunch of mechanics, not just the time rewind stuff. But the time rewind feels really good. The plot moves at a breakneck pace. But the characters are thinking about their situation and actively address things you think they should. So the entire thing was very engaging. The only two problems are at the extreme early and end of the game. Shooting the initial rifle really sucks, like it doesn't have consistent controls. But early on you find a Machinegun that makes the guns go from 0 to 100. It's outstanding and feels great. Then, the final boss has an overtuned attack that kills you way too quickly. It's probably a bug. But unless there's a mod to fix it, you just have to suck it up.

This game is gold, a combat system that put a lot of modern game to shame, and by the way the game is hard so always use the combos at your favor.

This is a TPS game made for you to let go and slash ennemies with feeling of power. The story is good enough to care about the characters. Really good visuals. You can found equipment that will help by exploring, the gameplay is really great and let you have fun because of it's simplicity. The time rewind mechanics cool and well used. You also have spell who are awesome to use. Blackspot : there are some bugs. Like cinematics that don't start but with a rapid reload it's all forgotten. One enemy is particulary not fun (you can't kill him), and the first boss can be quite a challenge because you don't really know what to do. Sometimes you can't see what's happening because of all the effects and lights. Anyway a good game. I recommand it you you're looking for a game to let go.

This game is great. It has a nice character, is fast, great to play with a gamepad. The graphics are great, and the game runs even on slower machines, if you have enough RAM. I am playing it in an Acer s1003, with two cores of 1,4 Ghz and it runs fast. I see some people complain about the story, but I am very happy about the simple history. Who cares about the story, when what you want is action? When I want a story, I read a book. In a game, I want action. This game is for people who want action. The game also includes a quickplay mode of short battles, so you will never get tired of playing. The puzzles are simple and easy. The controls with a gamepad are easy too after some time. If you compare it to X-Blades, it looks more modern, and is a little more complex, but same fun.

The requirement to spawn time clones to hold down switches at a point in the story becomes infinitely frustrating as there is no way to know how long a clone will last on the two separate buttons so that you don't get insta-kill spiked up the arse trying to grab the objective.
