Description
In a city teeming with life, who has time for the dead?

Meet Rosangela Blackwell, an embittered writer who just found out that she is a medium and that it’s her mission, whether she likes it or not, to assist tormented spirits and investigate other supernatural goings-on. She is assisted by the sardonic Joey Mallone, a ghost from the 1930s.

In the Blackwell Legacy, you are introduced to Rosangela as she meets Joey Mallone for the first time and is called upon to investigate a series of mysterious suicides at a local university. An enigmatic killer and a string of seemingly unconnected accidents set the background for Blackwell Unbound. Blackwell Convergence will have you investigating a film premiere that hides a bloody past and--last but not least!--in Blackwell Deception you’ll investigate why the customers of various street psychics seem to die under very mysterious circumstances.

New York, the city that never sleeps, is waiting for you to solve 4 gripping mysteries before it’s too late!
  • Blackwell Bundle includes the first four episodes: Legacy, Unbound, Convergence, and Deception.
  • Four unique adventure games with more than 10 hours of adventure greatness for one low price!
  • Get to know the New York of the 70’s and visit some of its unique locales such as the old Minetta Tavern in the West Village.
  • Switch between Joey Mallone and Rosangela Blackwell to gather clues and solve the case.

Weekend of Good StoryTelling--Cheap!

I never thought I would enjoy this as much as I did. I'm not much of a point n click fan. Most I find tedious with puzzles that distract from the plot. Not so, here. The puzzles, for the most part were extensions of the "detecting" rather than random silly puzzles slapped in the middle of the game to distract the player from the thin plot. Here the characters and world-building are thick and rich. This is a good game for those who aren't fond of Point N Clicks or detective tales. It's story and character-driven. I was also surprised, given the level of graphics, how immersed I was in the story-telling world and how much I cared about my pixelated characters. While I'm not a graphics freak, pixellated figures don't usually grab my attention with this kind of depth. It kept me up late, worrying I needed to get to the next plot point with my blocky little friends and their snappy relationship. For a few dollars on sale I was thoroughly entertained all weekend and bought the successor to polish the story off. Get this bundle. It's good entertainment for a few dollars.

Five Excellent Game Series

No spoilers here. Yet again, these are excellent point-and-click games from Wadjet Eye Games with great voiceovers, stories, music and atmosphere. Rosangela is a spiritual medium similar to Melinda Gordon in the Ghost Whisperer TV series, and Joey is a reluctant but cool spirit guide from the '30s, always attached to you, but only visible to you and ghosts you help transition to the afterlife. You get to play both roles. It will help you to remember to use your notebook to interview everyone you talk to, and use it to join clues to get new leads and map addresses - your phone, phonebook, and computer also provide clues. Each game has standalone stories but there is also a bigger story arc so you won't regret buying all five games; I'd advise you to buy them as a bundle. It's a cool series. You get drawn into the story and characters in a way you didn't think you could especially with a retro, pixelated game. Order of the titles: Blackwell Legacy, Blackwell Unbound (prequel to Legacy and Joseph Mitchell is a real person), Blackwell Convergence (6 mths after Legacy), Blackwell Deception, and Blackwell Epiphany (final game).

Absolute must have

I purchased this bundle on Steam a while ago for $25 so you are getting quite a savings here on GOG.com. Each game is at least a solid 2 hours of focused gameplay, with the last two games being quite longer than that. They obviously work best as a series and not on their own since the story ties together incredibly well throughout the series. If you like adventure games then you are doing yourself a disservice if you do not purchase these games.

Really great games

These games surprised me because I had never heard of them by the time the fourth came out. They're stunning. Each one is short, but the writing is really well done, the characters are great, and the production quality is very high for indie games. If you enjoy point&click at all, don't miss them.

Yet another great story from D. Gilbert!

First : I played it on Linux via Wine. you have to manage your own Wine installation, but everything worked without any quirk : install wine, double click on the blackwell bundle installer. The only issue I faced is that upon exit, I had to resize my screen back to decent resolution manually. The title says it : if you like its other adventure games from Wadjet Eye, you wont be disappointed All the usual things are there : * Really good story that will prevent you from exiting the game until the ending credits * characters well defined * very well acted (including the recognizable voice of Abe Goldfarb) * not too hard as a point and click (no cheating needed : everything is somehow logical if you think about it carefully) * very light and pleasant interface Each episode is sufficiently different from the other that you have some new experience on each one. The graphics are good old VGA style, quite well done (except that I did not like much the animation in the last episode) Each episode is relatively short (~5 hours), but the bundle itself has an overall fairly decent life. The only big minus is that the bundle does not include the 5th episode... which is a lot of mental suffering once the bundle is finished :D Note : There's apparently a Linux port for the game engine (AGS), I did not try it yet.
