Black Book

Very emerge story and game design.

Really like this game. I'm a sucker for indies that have a great vision and stick to it and Black Book is that. I really enjoy the world and the unsettling horror of it all. People making sacrifices to capricous spirits. The voice acting is really well done and so are all the side companions. This game has spirit and soul to it in a way many modern games do not. The card mechanics are interesting and work well. It does a good job of progressively introducing new game mechanics as you unlock new seals in your book which gives you new levels of cards. I'm well into chapter two. I'm deeply engaged in the story and have really enjoyed the atmosphere and the locations on my travels thus far. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely original and interesing game.

I honestly love folklore when it comes to consuming media, and I like how well this game is fleshed out in terms of Slavic spirits, demons, and folklore. I love reading the onomasticon entries and immersing myself in this knowledge. Having full dub is also very nice (I'm playing with the Russian voices) and increases immersion. As per the card battle system, I haven't played much of them, but putting it into the one-less-than-the-last-one (I can't remember the name) is providing a good challenge, but not too hard, so I'm enjoying it. Be ready to recite your zagovor!

It is a fun card game. The story is interesting and it lets you learn a lot about Eastern European folklore. When it comes to the deck building, this has to be one of my favorite games, as it actually lets you build your deck, instead of just throw random cards at you.
