Black Book

When i bought it i was no sold by it. Just another card game deck builder i thought. But no, the story and gameplay here is phenomenal! Loved every single hour i spent here. I made a full sinless run and i felt every choice was rewarding, every action. The ending is a masterpiece. I trully recomend this game it is incredible. A suggestion to the developers: it would be fun after finishing the game for the first time that we have the option to choose some sort of new game+. By that im mean all cards unlocked, not the seals (they maintain the story requirements) but i think that would add to the longevity of the game. Very very good game, rewarding, fun, very good character development (Proshka is my favourite) and great storytelling and pacing.

The graphics is exquisite and the story is a great insite in old Slavic myths and legends. The gameplay reminds heavily on Slay the Spire, which is not a criticism at all - it's fun and tactical. Exploring the world of Rusalkas, demons and other lore has never been this beautiful and fun. Well worth the admission price.

This game is top-tier when it comes to story, lore, and card-based combat. Sadly, it is lacking in the graphics, movement controls, and overall game pacing. Additionally, despite a number of meaningful choices, it's a very linear game, and would be hard to play through more than once. The developers of this game are incredibly talented. But sadly, the team lacked the talent and/or resources to make the game all it could've been. Still, I'd wholeheartedly recommend it; and if Black Book 2 comes out, given the time and attention it deserves, it's liable to be my favorite game of all time.

The game has a great story, am immersive world and a beautiful art style, however it is a real shame that you can't purchase the soundtrack for the game on GOG.com yet you can on Steam

The setting and mood are perfectly realized. Seems to be based on historically accurate folklore from the Perm region of Russia. The first game I've played with book citations in its closing credits! Love the option to skip any battle if needed, wish more games would include this. Game is a bit on the long side, especially with some of the jank, and started strong then lagged a bit in the middle, but finished strong again with an excellent ending.
