This version is the best that exists of this game and it hasn't crashed once for me as the steam version did many times. However be aware that its bugs are still there and can sometimes softlock you. As far as i can tell that can be solved by loading your save file but it can be a problem if you hadn't saved in a while.
Bioshock is one of the best FPS of PS360 generation.
A very complete, challenging and fun linear shooter.
His level design is excellent, where the exploration is extraordinary.
It may have few weapons, but each one of them feels unique when used, which offers a very good experience when using it and evolving it with its different types of ammunition.
Like our powers (plasmids) we can burn, electrocute, freeze and confuse our enemies making them more vulnerable to our gunshots.
Rapture is simply wonderful.
One of my favorite cities of video games with Columbia (what a coincidence, no?). For more years to pass, this city will always look very beautiful. No open world with good graphics will replace the beautiful views of Rapture.
Like his soundtrack.
I love games with a retro touch and classical music. More games of this style like Bioshock or Fallout are needed.
His story is simply amazing.
From what looks like a shooter whose story does not matter to anyone and that the only important thing is the gameplay, his villain gives a totally opposite approach.
Andrew Ryan is a genius and at the same time a man with a great personality. All its history that is told through the radio messages hidden by the maps.
Bioshock is a surprising, elegant and meaningful story. All the detail is well explained from the origin of ADAM, to the creation of the Big Daddies and the Little Sisters.
The only thing that still does not make much sense to me is about the Vita Cameras. Especially because only the protagonist uses them, but never the enemies or a boss. Only you.
A totally essential FPS for those who like singleplayer shooters like DOOM or Metro.
By the way, most of the negative reviews are due to the fact that this Remaster is garbage. I have crashed the game a lot of times and lost the progress. A guide circulates online to help avoid this problem in most computers.
Thank you for reading my review and sorry for my bad English.
FPS-fan or not, this game is a must-play for everyone. I'm not even an FPS-fan, thanks to COD and other bad FPS-games, however, this game brought me to appreciate FPS-games more.
It's hard to explain by words what makes Bioshock so great. It might be the amazing and unique environment, it might be the amazing characters that have been created, it might be the deep, unique, and complex storyline. If you're a fan of the game, you might have chosen all of the options, instead, I chose Rapture.
Rapture makes this game already amazing. There's no place in any game, that has felt as unique and beautiful as Rapture. Everything is explained, there's nothing left to wonder, there're no "holes" anywhere: everything has been detailed to the point, where this kind of city would be possible. It's something that Donald Trump could make, just so that he could be the leader of his own city. To be honest, if he made that, he'd be my leader... well, only if he wouldn't create daddies and sisters, and make people splice up. Rapture as a whole is beautiful, but at the same time, it's sad how the city of its prime, became the worst place in the world.
I have to also talk about some of the characters because I would be mad at meself if I didn't. Andrew Ryan is an amazing character and so is Atlas. To be honest, all of the characters are amazing. Every single character has it's traits, especially Andrew Ryan. His whole character gives me shivers, not because he's scary or anything, because he's so quotable. "No kings or Gods. Only man", "A man chooses. A slave obeys" and so on. He's so amazing and lovable, that I can't describe it.
Also one of the things I love is the setting. Great 50s-60s music, classical posters, classical animations, the propaganda, everything feels so warm and cool, and it couldn't be done in any better way.
Overall, this is an amazing game, just effin' fantastic. I also recommend you to play the original one, 'cos to be honest boyo... remastered ain't any good.
Great games and I'm happy to see them come to GOG. I will certainly pick them up again on GOG and while I prefer the original to the HD version as the original version runs better on my hardware and takes up less HHD space; I see the original version will eventually be added . Win win situation for me.
