GOG did it again, new masterpieces here

Finally after some longer waiting, we can thank GOG for bringing the Bioshock Series here. Now we can finally enjoy playing it DRM Free and without the crp Steam DRM, that doesn't let you play if you don't have your account signed in and client installed. With the current PC Store Publishing War, GOG is IMHO the best place to buy your games if you don't want to lose them in the next 10 years. For the game itself, you already know that it is a masterpiece and one of the best games in the last decade. I really don't need to explain that.

Buy This Game, Would You Kindly

The first Bioshock is a great experience, a true example of story telling in videogames as a media. The gameplay is a solid first person shooter, gun in one hand and "spells" called plasmids in the other. Some of the enemies can feel more like bullet sponges in the late game, but it's still fun. The morality "system" is a bit hamhanded. You can either save the little sisters for a small reward now and a big reward later or harvest them for a moderate reward immediately. They make it obvious that being the good guy is the best choice, whereas I would have preferred that being good and taking the high road was less materially rewarding but gave more story rewards instead. The graphics have stood up well, over time. The environments are very atmospheric; gives the illusion that you are in an underwater city. And really adds to the storytelling. The important takeaway is that Bioshock tells a story and it tells it well.

More Bugs Than Splicers in Rapture

Absolute stone-cold classic game - rendered unplayable by bugs that nobody is interested in fixing. I managed to play up to the halfway mark on a friend's console, so I was really looking forward to playing this again and finishing this. The art design, the concept and the execution of the effects is so ahead of anything else of it's time. It's capable of being a full-on masterpiece. So, a few years ago, I got the game and was thrilled to enter the world of Rapture once more. The game plays well and the imagination of the world created is amazing. I was really enjoying playing the game till I got to the Medical Pavillion. The game crashed when I used a new plasmid. I reopened the game and found that my save game was corrupted. I tried again and found that it happened whenever I got to that particular section of the Medical Pavilion. It's been out a few years I thought, they must have patched it by now, right? Wrong. Forums are littered with people have the same issue that I had, over three years since the game was released. Once 2K have your money, they don't care.

The abyss of time...

...will never swallow games like this! Ditto the positive comments already here, except to add that the "minimum and recommended" requirements for the game are obviously for the *originals* and date back to the original shipping dates. Obviously, the remakes run splendidly well under Win8/ and Win10x64, as well--and 3840x2160 is supported ROOB for these remakes! I am downloading now--these classics are a must-have for my collection--and I doubt there will ever be a better sale price! DRM-free, along with your own installable game copy (!), make GOG the only rational choice for these games. Better yet, when you buy these remakes, the *originals* will be added *free* to your GOG account at a later date. I owned the originals and got tired and bored with having to jump through DRM hoops just to install them, so I had actually uninstalled these games--until now! Carpe diem!...;)

Atlas Rises

Simply one of the greatest video games of all time and easily one of the best shooters ever. Dark, mature writing, enthralling to experience and dangerously addictive gameplay. Bioshock is an all time classic now available DRM free. If you remotely enjoy FPS games, do not hesitate to grab this masterpiece.
