Great, but with problems

The game itself is great, It's definitly a step up from BioShock 1. New mechanics, plasminds, new hacking, it's all well done and maching with this series theme. In terms of technical stuff, it's also well optimised. Even with my ancient GPU (GTX 660) it's running quite smoothly, except for a few drops in some places. But, as others have mentioned, there's problem with crashing. For me, crashes almost exclusivly were happening when accesing or hacking vending machines, and sometimes during fights. Curiously, at the beginning, not in the middle, even when battle was intense. Said crashes are pretty random, sometimes game is running for like 2h with zero problems, and sometimes there's crash every 30 min or so. Honestly, as long as you're frequently quicksaving, you won't lose much of your progress. So to sum this up, I really like it, but I cannot give more than 4 stars, due to aforementioned crashing.

One of the best games ever made

if it wasn't the worst optimized one lmao. Literally had to save every 3 seconds when the screen was flooded with enemies during the Little Sisters Adam things for example and in many other situations. Basically just save every 3 seconds when the screen is flooded with enemies and you'll be fine most of the time.

Love it

In many ways better than the original. I actually preferred 2's story in certain ways. The first Bioshock overplayed the cliche of everyone betraying each other, which seems to be overdone in movies, TV shows, and games nowadays. 2's story just seemed more grounded and grander in scope. Gameplay-wise, better in almost all ways. More weapons, better hacking minigame, and you can fire weapons and plasmids at the same time now. The only subjective "downgrade" is a seeming loss of imm sim mechanics. Bioshock 1 was somewhat of an imm sim lite and allowed you to use the environment to your advantage (e.g., throwing objects, electrocuting water). 2 still has those abilities, just less opportunities to do so. The level progression also seems to be ever so slightly more linear, although that isn't necessarily better or worse. Multiplayer is fun, if you can get it working. The Minerva's Den DLC deserves separate recognition. It improved so much from the main game, both story and gameplay. Arguably has one of the best stories in a game.

Best Bioshock game from the trilogy

Dive deep inside crumbling Rapture city. This time you experience this journey through out Big Daddy eyes. You are uknown prototype who tries to find out the truth. Walking back inside desroyed and burning down Rapture city never been so awesome. Better and improved combat mechanics from the first game as its lets you to use plasmids and gun at the same time. Killing splicers was amusing and fun. Useful tactics always pays out at the end. Best encounters with Big Sisters as they make you dance and think smart before taking them out. They are ferocious and agile while you are easy target for them cause your slow tanki mobility. Making enemies fight between themself when you use tricks on them makes it even more fun. Great story with twister characters and spin offs aftermatches. Different choices let to desire for replaying this masterpiece. Personally I think this is better game then the first one. One fact that you control Big daddy is a bonus and the story telling is better. Sadly a lot of people had mixed reaction on this title. One of the most forgotten gems in game library. Must play for every Bioshock fan. 10/10

Play the Classic version

Fantastic game, but the remaster is an absolute mess. Play the Classic version which you get for free.
