A gem, delicious and brilliant

I'm a fan of adventure games, and as I grow older, it gets harder to come by something that would be both entertaining and intellectual. In short terms, I'm impossibly picky! "Beneath a steel sky" is a game I could dream about. Its atmosphere drags you into its world and after a few minutes you forget about how lousy VGA graphics look on a 19" LCD and how "mobile phone-ish" the 22khz audio sounds on a modern card. The game has got non-trivial puzzles that give your brain not pain, but pleasure. Typically for Revolution games, the brain work is rewarded with some action-filled events, and the quality of animation is amazing. Voice acting is superb, it makes characters come alive. The story line is satirical, and British humour is everywhere; the plot is deep and clever. It's one of the rare occasions with an adventure game when you can use your logic to find solutions, rather than meticulously clicking every pixel, trying to find a new object to pick up. It's a tasty perfect piece of art, it should be in the intergalactic hall of fame, in the section "example-setters". Yet it doesn't feel like a wore-off Oscar-winning classic everybody quotes, but more like an alternative, somewhat punk, limited edition, unambitious, cozy and comfy, "just-for-you", kind of a personal discovery. And it feels original after so many years since it was made. I'm so glad it's revived on an iPhone, let the new generation enjoy what we have. All in all, after downloading it here for free, and playing it through, I want to buy it. Am I that mad or is it that good? Be the judge! :)

Awesome

It's really difficult on some parts, but I've liked point-and-click adventures.

Classic and still kicking!

This game is fantastic. Growing up with these point and click games, I can appreciate the simplicity and subtleness of the puzzles, and the graphics are very good for a game of it's age. Hey, and it's free! Give it a shot.
