It's twenty years after your village fled the kingdom and took refuge in Darkwood. You always knew that these woods hold dark secrets but now you start to feel their evil on your own skin. Horrible things are happening. You discover fragments of the woods dark history and come to the conclusion that you have to leave your home. You know in your heart that once you step out of the protection of the place where you grown up, nothing will be the same. You have to face a world that's in chaos. A world without laws. Nevertheless you feel something else too. You feel freedom. A completely new world awaits you to explore it, but the feeling quickly turns into guilt. There are people in Darkwood who are counting on your help. You are their last hope.

this is a great game that plays like a fallout 1+minecraft without bugs all rolled neaty into one. If you like the sound of that wait no longer. Oh and don't take alcemy 2 you can find a skill book in the towery kind of castle before the maze. have fun!
I love Balrum. It does not put yourself into the shoes of the super-hero, you are just a regular person. And this makes it amazing. Get this gem if you are tired of the sword-wielding, magic-blasting, hordes-of-monsters slashing characters in RPGs. You are simply a guy (or girl?) from a village in the woods. There is a huge world to explore, but even a wolf can be a huge danger. There is much customization, tons of items, and many things to do. And always it feels like you are exploring the world, not some power projection with mega-muscles.
Highly recommended!
I like survival and crafting games like minecraft, stranded(by unreal software), rust etc.
Balrum has a good crafting system with quite extensive survival elements to it.
If you like survival games you will definitely like it.
p.s. If you are looking for story-driven rpg you don't want to buy this.
I played 197hours and I finished my main quests about in 20hrs and other 170hrs I have been tending crops and livestocks and gathering herbs
The freedom this game gives you is overwhelming and that's what's so good about it! A little rough around the edges but worth the asking price! I'm going to sink in a lot of hours into this!
Pros:
+Interesting non generic quests
+Excellent exploration
+Lots of abilities
+Unique crafting system
+Soundtrack
Cons:
-Walking could be faster (fine with speed potions)
-Steep learning curve
-Clunky
