A great point and Click adventure
This is a classic, in every sense of the word, It's impressive that they managed to render all this during 97... on Windows 95 and 98 no less. The game casts you as Seth, a young adventurous man who dreams of becoming a Queens Companion, and as such, he heads to the Palace in Atlantis, but as soon as he arrives and is sent to the Companions Quarters, He learns of the Queens disappearance, and thus starts a huge adventure filled with suspense, Clever puzzles and unforgettable characters. While the game today is dated in the graphics department, the atmosphere and music still tops everything, each track fits the location you hear it in, from the frantic tone at the Inn to the calm tones of the palace, Cryo did a great job at transporting their players. While the gameplay is filled with trial and error, you still feel like nothing is too hard and sometimes, it takes you a few deaths to figure out what to do. If I have to nitpick ONE thing, that is that the game is rather vague on where you're supposed to go or what you should do, but usually, you have the necessary tools to proceed everytime. My grades: Graphics: 7/10 (they looked amazing back then, and while they have lost most of that compared to games like Skyrim, they still have their charm.) Sound: 10/10 (Everything from sound effects like the guards footsteps while sneaking out of the palace to the soundtrack fits it's locations.) Gameplay: 8/10 (While today, it looks like you're playing Google Maps the game, it still is a point and click, click the right things to continue) Story: 9/10 (While it's vague now and then, it's gripping from the very moment you set foot in Atlantis all the way to the end "battle") Replay Value: 6/10 (Once you beat it, unless you're really nostalgic, or you wanna see all death scenes, you're not likely to play it again, a difficulty system, or a Mini game mode for the puzzles would be nice as an Unlockable, but then again, this game is old so we can't demand too much) Overall: 8/10, A classic
