Join the celebration! Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration takes you on an interactive journey through 50 years of video games.

At the heart of Atari 50 are the Interactive Timelines, which combine historical trivia, digital artifacts, over 60 minutes of new interviews, documentary footage, and playable games into one cohesive experience. When you encounter a game in the Timelines, you can immediately play it without losing your place.

The massive selection of over 100 games spans seven different platforms: Arcade, 2600, 5200, 7800, Atari 8-bit computers, and, for the first time ever on modern consoles, Atari Lynx and Jaguar! Play the classics like Tempest 2000, Asteroids, and Yars' Revenge, or dive into some deeper cuts.

Behind every game are the stories of Atari, what was happening at the company, and what went into the creation of the games and the hardware on which they ran, all told by the people who were there.

Also includes six new games:

  • Swordquest: AirWorld – Yes, you read that right: After nearly 40 years of waiting, the team at Digital Eclipse has created a new entry in the legendary Swordquest series, inspired by the design concepts of original Swordquest creator Tod Frye. Who will be the first to solve its mysteries – and finally complete the quest?
  • Haunted Houses – The original “survival horror” game for the Atari 2600 gets a modern 3D voxel-based sequel, featuring more houses, more spooky situations, and more urns.
  • VCTR-SCTR – This mashup celebration of the vector era of gaming combines the gameplay from Asteroids, Tempest, and other vector-based arcade classics into a single, continuous challenge.
  • Neo Breakout – An amazing and addictive two-player competition that combines the best features of Breakout and Pong, with a modern graphic style
  • Quadratank – The first new entry in the classic Tank series since 1978 combines features from the original games with four-player fun in team or free-for-all modes.
  • Yars’ Revenge Reimagined – The Atari 2600 masterpiece gets a whole new look. Swap between original and modern graphics at any time!

Please note that multiplayer is supported in local mode.

Main game has other version than DLC's

In the offline istallers the main game has version 1.04 but the DLC's version 1.05. And there's Steamdata in the game files.

Not available for Linux

I'm sure it is a good collection. However, a collection like this should be available for Linux, not just Windows.

Only for true nostalgia addicts

TL;DR if you really want to play any of the included games (check the list to make sure your old favorite is included) then it will be worth it (although you are probably already emulating them). Do not buy expecting to discover a new game that you might like, these games have NOT aged well. I bought this for 2 games only: Tempest 2000 and Cybermorph, which were some of my favorite games on the Jaguar. I still love them to this day, and will play them regularly, now and again. I play them on an emulator (there is Virtual Jaguar, and also a Russian emulator called Phoenix that emulates the Jag and a 3DO, go figure). I bought this for my Nintendo Switch, I'm waiting for the game to go on sale before I double-dip and buy it on GOG. As for the rest of the games, I've looked at a bunch, and my reaction is always the same: why would anybody today play such an ugly, blocky game with primitive gameplay? LOL I guess anybody could say the same thing about Tempest 2000 and Cybermorph, but hey, I have have real nostalgia for those games, and nothing you can say about them will change my mind. Don't buy this expecting your grandkid will be interested in the "origins of video games." Who has time to play such old, blocky games? And nobody is going to scroll through the "history lessons" included, people would probably rather watch a YouTube video or a TikTok. The other major criticism I have is with the game selection...where are some of the other games I really would have liked to have seen in a collection such as this? Leaving aside the Jaguar, I also had a Lynx, and I could easily think of many games that I would have liked to have seen. Why are so many games that I liked missing? (BTW, the Lynx collection is paltry and the titles are, uh, not the best. Honestly, the included Lynx titles are pretty awful...) To summarize, if you have an old fond memory of one or more of these games and you have the money, go for it! Otherwise, avoid.
