Assassin's Creed®: Director's Cut

The plot is good enough, but the task repetition is a bit high. After playing three levels, you can predict the next levels. Every time completed a level, the character's abilities will have a Level Up, which is a tiny RPG element. The difficulty of the later levels gradually increases, more enemies and obstructive civilians will appear to deliberately prevent the player from completing the mission. What is the most impressive is that the battle in the last two stages is very fierce. The protagonist single-handedly penetrated into the enemy's rear, fighting the enemy's coalition forces with his own strength, it is really valiant and audacious! Generally it is worth playing, recommended to buy at a discount. 剧情还算不错，就是任务重复度有些高，玩过三关以后就能预见后面的关卡。每完成一关，角色的能力就会得到相应的升级，算是一点微小的 RPG 元素。后面的关卡难度逐渐升高，会出现更多的敌人和更多妨碍性的平民来故意阻止玩家完成任务。最令人印象深刻的是，最后两关的战斗非常激烈，主人公单枪匹马深入敌后，以一己之力力战敌人两方联军，实在是勇武至极！总体来讲值得一玩，建议打折时购买。

I remember playing this when it first came out, not knowing much other than it was history oriented adventure. Little did I know that the lore was huge, and it hinted to more things. To me, AC series finished with Connor's adventure in AC3. Although gameplay mechanics might be outdated, I would highly recommend this game.

The game is frozen in every 2-8 seconds, I have to switch to other window then back to refreeze the game . It is not possible to play at all. i9 proc, nvidia 4070 videocard, 64GB memory - so no lack of resources...

This is a fairly fun game, although you definitely feel that it's rough around the edges, AC2 is a lot more polished. On the technical side this game is very rough - the controls are the console ones, just mapped to the keyboard and mouse (LMB is also called "Button 0"), you can't enable anti-aliasing on high resolutions, and it has frequent stutters, which you have to fix in a hex editor (look for gconnect.ubi.com, and replace the first letter with a null byte). EaglePatch fixes a bunch of issues on more modern systems, including the anti-aliasing thing and improved controller support, so I suggest it if you want to play on Windows 10 or later. As of this review, GOG hasn't really made any changes to the game either, so it still works on XP, despite what the system requirements say on here.

This game is really good in itself, but the sequel to it is much better in gameplay, and game mechanics.
