A timeless gem

I already played this game years ago when it first released, but being able to play it again in my more mature days, I can definitely say this game will have a special place in my heart. The graphics were amazing at the time and age very well, the cities already felt very lively with NPCs commenting every single move you make and reacting accordingly, and the atmosphere was spot on, especially with the soundtrack. The missions patterns where certainly redundant, but in a sense it added to the vibe "I'm an assassin and ma' job needs to be done son", with the aspect of contracts as a main story line. Overall it's not that bothering, but a little variety like out-of-contracts missions would have been the cherry on top. If you haven't played it, you definitely should, it certainly is a must play. P.S : the bonus file of the artwork needs to be redone, because some texts are visibly cropped, and some seem to be missing, as well as the bottom page indications (page n°, section of the artbook etc)

i really enjoyed this game and it still looks good as it did back in the day with any luck gog will get assassins creed 2 a worthy addition to anyones collection

Perfect Game

There may be a remaster or a remake but this original version is just perfect. I love its mechanics and gameplay, along with the plot and sound quality, they remain faithful to the good game that it is, and the visual quality is also very pleasant. Accompanied by great optimization making this timeless wonder, whether to play again or on the first play, pleasure and satisfaction are the feelings that arouse in the player when enjoying this title.

The mediocre start to an amazing series.

Assassin's Creed 1 is not a great game. It's boring, slow, and repetitive. However, its successors, starting with Assassin's Creed 2 onwards, are excellent games. It's up to you whether you want to bother with Assassin's Creed 1. While this was originally a console game; the PC version is better and is the definitive version but is still a mediocre game due to the repetition. The PC version has more variety in the side missions that are required before each assassination, but I guarantee that the game is still going to seriously drag by the time you're halfway through. Still, I suggest getting it, if only because it sets up the story of Assassin's Creed 2, which is a great game that you owe to yourself to play. Trust me, AssCreed 2 really fixed many of the problems with the first game. Give it a shot if you have the money to blow, but don't expect the masterpiece that its successors were.
