There are few games I've played that made me feel my mortality quite like this one. It made me question what the hell I was doing with my life on a deep, unsettling level. That is not a joke. Look, I like to dive into bad games myself, but this one is too far. It's not that it's horrible and unplayable, but that there's no reason to play it. You're not here for the story, lets get that out of the way. There are few interesting character choices to make, so you don't get to be clever and play the game in entirely different ways. What's here is the barest bones of an RPG structure: walk down hall way, kill monsters, level up, kill more monsters. You don't get the fun loot drop stuff from an ARPG, you don't get the character building or story development, nothing.

I never played it, finished it last week. The gameplay is quite simple and straightforward, like these RPGs from the late 2000s, beginning of 2010s. Works great with keyboard + mouse. The graphic looks good, I only disable the annyoing bloom and used the so called American color sheme, to have a bit of saturated colors. Also disabled some effects, like sunshine/shadows on face, because there were some strange colors. Minus one star because of some graphical bugs, like bodies sometimes falls inside the ground or floats in mid air and some cliptroughts/seetrough. The game crashed on me only once, when I ALT + TABed and came about an hour later back. I did work great on AMD Ryzen 5600G with Radeon RX 7 VEGA integrated graphics, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and Windows 10 Home 64-bit, 21H2 with getting about 50-55 fps at 1920 x 1080 px resolution and some graphics option disabled/low. I love the Gothic series and this game makes a surprising amount of references to previous games, but it is nowhere near as deep or as challenging. That said the combat is fast and fluid (no stamina), you are never at a loss for what to do, everything is voice acted, you only improve your abilities and combat and spells so managing your experience is equally streamlined. It looks decent (if a little rough) but someone cared to put detail into the environments, buildings, and costumes and armor. You basically wander from place to place on quests with occasional peeks into the corners of the world for goodies. You won't be overpowered because you're usually given the tier of weapon you need to deal with new enemies as a quest reward and there's only a couple limited 'open world' sections so you won't find a giant boss you need to sneak around. Archery is easy, arrows are plentiful. The music is pleasant. I had no technical problems except some flickering at higher resolutions. It's perfectly serviceable and doesn't feel cynical: just a little out of its depth, like people who loved Gothic tried to recreate it with half the budget and demands to avoid user unfriendliness. Get it on sale if you'd like and it's a bite-sized portion of RPG exploration, questing, and fighting.

I like this game. I played all Gothics and Risens and I can say this game is a little diferent but in any case it isn't bad at all as some players proclaim. I bought it in discount action so it is very worthy of this several dollars. Game works perfectly at Win 10 64bits withou any older compatibility activated. There are no bugs now, graphic is very nice even in this time in comparison with some other games. Locations are varied which is good and I like Tooshoo very much. Playing difficulty is just good for normal setting. But I have some reservations too here, for example there is no zoom in and out of hero in game I miss controling days and nights actions by sleeping and healing by sleeping, I miss swimming and even diving. Moving is free only partially and teleports could work differently all over the land. Dispite of all these minor drawbacks I can recommend it to all lovers of RPG game.

A average rating for a average 'generic' game. The game is bad? No, is better than the majority of 'modern' RPG titles but isn't like Gothic 3/2/1. The worlds is small, with less freedom, in G3 you can go any place at the beginning(except Vengard due the magical barrier that have lore explanation isn't artificially placed by no reason) of course a low lv char will have problems surviving against high level creatures, but you can do anything that you wanna do. This game is too easy, too repetitive, too linear and too casual compared with G3/2/1.
