Description
American Conquest: In the year 1492, travel to America as Christopher Columbus and ignite the fire that will fan 300 years of heated battles for land, riches, and freedom. In eight historical campaigns spanning 42 missions, you will take on the roles of great legends such as Francisco Pizarro and George Washington. Secure new technologies, unique weaponry, and improved fighting units, but also master the delicate world of diplomacy. Play with fire! Conquer America!
American Conquest Fight Back: Three centuries of war continue with frantic combat and desperate power struggles raging across the American continent. The Spanish press the attack in the Yucatan against the fierce Maya and Aztec nations. The Germans put all their efforts into finding the legendary El Dorado. The Pontiac Uprising ends in a terrifying bloodbath between Native Americans and the British. And the Russians will do anything to conquer Alaska at the cost of the Haida. Lead armies of thousands of troops to victory in large-scale battles in 10 missions.
Both games are a real treat for any strategy fan. But this is not a standard RTS, there is no simple build-send-and-forget here because even the biggest army can be defeated by a well coordinated, but relatively small force. Just like the old proverb says: “An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.”
Wage historical wars on an epic scale, with over 16.000 units on gigantic battlefields.
12 nations to choose from, each with its own unique set of units, buildings, technologies, and abilities.
Extensive battle mechanics that feature economical and political dependencies, unit formations, and tactical maneuvers.

really nice game with engine the same as Cossacks. only difference is that you have to send peasants to barracks to train troops which makes sense. Spain has conquistador troops. My fav appearance wise. love the game!
The game remind me the old day with my celeron computer :) . The game is something new for me because the way we need to manage the army I'm not get use to it at first
But after i understand the concept the game make me spend a whole day try to win the AI but i can't :(
I'm still got the Hard copy of this game but decide to buy it from gog again and found out that the game is very fun :) but I'm found some problems that make me feel bad is that the game look like Low fps for me it keep happens or may be i don't know what the problems
I'm running it on Windows 7 64bit :) it can run fine except some frame rate drop. Anyway I recommend this game it is Macro scale of the army but need micro management which are very challege
Ein toller Klassiker, der unbedingt ein neues Update (wie Cossacks 3) gebrauchen könnte!
Game: Top!
Soundtrack : Super Top!

A great classic that could definitely use a new update (like Cossacks 3)!

SO MUCH WRONG WITH THIS!!! This is unbelievably bad purely from a mechanics perspective alone! Even on the easiest difficulty the enemy zerg rushes you in under three minutes and the game AI is completely broken! You'll have five trappers run right through the middle of your lines and clean passed your troops sometimes without even being attacked! There's no pause button and the pace of the game is unfeasible! On the easiest difficulty it felt like the highest difficulty in dawn of war 2!!!
Did one single trapper sneak passed your lines because your entire army is nearsighted? Well guess what he's going to be line for the barracks and they're faster than you! Then he's going to use it as a firing position, but troops won't even return fire if they're being shot at from inside a building, so they just stand there like targets getting picked off!
If you're really unlucky they'll set the building on fire, and they can do it the second they reach the building and once a building is on fire you can't put it out and when it explodes it kills everything inside meaning if you sent troops in to try and stop the unit, they die with the building. ALSO, once a building is broken the rubble has a de spawn time and there is no repair option!
Did you have a nice little town set up and now your barracks blow up? Well too bad! They blew it up and now you have to wait for it to de-spawn and I hope you have space to place another because if you don't you can't build units now until either your old one is gone, and you can build another, or you just have to build one randomly.
Your troops don't even have common sense! I set up a firing line expecting if an enemy rushed me, they'd lay down fire. They did nothing just got butchered. One time I gave my rifleman an order to attack a bison 3 times before they even started shooting and by then it killed 8 pikemen which are such useless fodder that it takes 5 of them just to kill one of your enemies' base units! Completely unplayable!
