Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
The game is short (maybe 2-3 hours if you do some sidequests, which you absolutely should) but has enough character, an appealing famiy-friendly setting and a low price to make the effort worthwhile. It also has a native linux version so, what the heck, 5/5 - did not regret buying it.
Such a great experience. I played this on switch in bed at release, but can't wait to buy here. It was challenging in the perfect way for me. Not punishing, not stressful. Wholesome, cute, fun. Really hope devs create more like this!
A joy to play from start to finish. Reminiscent of Animal Crossing with the anthropomorphic animals, fishing mini-game, and treasure digging.
There are a few nice stories scattered around like the painter trying to find the best spot for his painting to impress some art critics.
Took me 3 hours 9 minutes to beat and I enjoyed every moment of it. I hope they come out with a sequel.
I stumbled across this game and am so glad I did -- it's absolutely delightful.
No combat, open-world exploration game where you play a young penguin who is (reluctantly) on vacation to a park which her family has visited for years. She has the day to herself and is free to roam and explore around the island.
There is much to discover about the island (and maybe about yourself along the way).
Charming graphics, engaging music, zero combat, a Miyazaki "vibe", and a wonderful Metroidvania style of pacing and exploration that makes this a real gem of an adventure game that is completable in a few (delightful) hours.
Highly recommended!
This game is very easy to unwind with. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The dialogue was startlingly direct and refreshing, and I soon grew to like the people on the island. The game doesn't mind if you take the direct path or turn around and go the exact wrong way, with plenty of things to do regardless of which direction you go. There's so much to love about this game, from the fishing tutorial to the sassy feather scalper.
The open world design is one of my favorites, very reminiscent of Breath of the Wild to me. It doesn't care what quests you tackle first or last, or how directly you choose to go after the goal. This is the kind of open world, railroad-free, setting I crave.
Downsides: I'm quite picky about graphics, so it took me a bit to get into the feel of this game. Luckily, the soundtrack was top notch. I had a bit of difficulty with the controls, but since falling off isn't that big a deal, especially late-game, I didn't mind that overall. The biggest problem I had was the way the camera can change, sometimes rapidly, in a dizzying way that made Claire fly the wrong direction despite the fact that my key press hadn't changed.
In short, this game brought a smile to my face. It was easy to get into and fulfilling to get lost in. Highly recommend. Would purchase a sequel.
