Follow the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history. Hunted by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats, Amicia and Hugo will come to know and trust each other. As they struggle to survive against overwhelming odds, they will fight to find purpose in this brutal, unforgiving world.
1349. The plague ravages the Kingdom of France. Amicia and her younger brother Hugo are pursued by the Inquisition through villages devastated by the disease. On their way, they will have to join forces with other children, and evade swarms of rats using fire and light. Aided only by the link that binds their fates together, they will face untold horrors in their struggle to survive.
As their adventure begins… the time of innocence ends.
The graphics are pretty good but show their age.
It should have gone graphic novel ilike Vanishing of Ethan Carter, nstead.
I can't see the 40 odd quid for this.
Get it on sale.
Still, I have to give it 5 out of 5.
The graphics design is excellent, I loved the characters, storyline, the colour filters. Every once in a while there are minor glitches in the animation but that is definitely drowned by how well the scenes, landscape and 95% of all the objects are designed. It is a piece of art for eyes and ears!
The gameplay itself is not too overwhelming but pretty solid anyway! A fantastic job Asobo Studios has delivered there!
Merci beaucoup et a bientot!
I was really looking forward to playing this game, the voice acting is pretty good, the environment is gorgeous, the characters look well made; the models move a little mechanically and the facial expressions are a little off but it's decent enough, and the story seemed interesting.
However, there is a major game breaking bug in chapter 7 (there are 17 chapters to the game) that means you can't continue playing the game.
I tried replaying the chapter, repairing the game, uninstalling and reinstalling, and even starting over from the beginning but nothing helped, it remains broken at the same point in chapter 7.
It also seems that other people experienced this same bug over a year ago and there has still been no solution or fix for the issue from the developers (too busy with the sequel I guess).
I'm really disappointed, as I enjoyed the part I was able to play and would have liked to have finished the game.
I might be simply a bad player but I really didn't enjoy this game.
You have to follow the preestablished paths, and you'll get stuck at the same point until you manage to do exactly what it's wanted.
I really found that frustrating.
The graphic is very compelling and I am all for games with a historical setting, but this was absolutely not enough to make me finish the game. It didn't bring joy!
(I also found annoying the french accent of the protagonist, but this is really not that relevant.)
The game has numerous flaws, and summing them up, its cost is unjustified by far. If it'd cost several dollars, it'd receive a 3-star from me. The worst thing is the story itself. It's very shallow, predictable and its general idea of poor misunderstood children, hurt by big bad adults is placed comewhere between hypocrisy and ridicule. On the good side is graphics (nothing special, but good) and decent development system. But the pathetic story and sky high price place this game in the list of worst games I ever played (forcing myself to finish them).
