Follow the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history. Hunted by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats, Amicia and Hugo will come to know and trust each other. As they struggle to survive against overwhelming odds, they will fight to find purpose in this brutal, unforgiving world.
1349. The plague ravages the Kingdom of France. Amicia and her younger brother Hugo are pursued by the Inquisition through villages devastated by the disease. On their way, they will have to join forces with other children, and evade swarms of rats using fire and light. Aided only by the link that binds their fates together, they will face untold horrors in their struggle to survive.
As their adventure begins… the time of innocence ends.
Plague tale is a great game about siblings enduring the impossible in a harsh time, the characters are developed and interesting. The story is intriguing, i always wanted to know what will happen next. Great visuals, the land is belivable and fun to explore.
If we past the fact that the gameplay for a game of this magnitude is small. The producers of the game in my opinion thet've managed not only to create a bullet-proof experience but to recreate the historical period of the Hundred Years War. Just get it. It's worth every penny.
I really enjoyed this game, I wasn't expecting it to have a dark fantasy side to it. Trying to avoid any spoilers here so that's all I'll say.
The game's voice acting is great, the graphics are AAA quality, and the gameplay is decent.
A Plague Tale took me 11:22 hours to beat.
The game is very story-driven and you spend your time avoiding enemies & swarms of rats, using them to your advantage, and doing Tomb Raider style puzzles. There is an upgrade/lite crafting system for different types of throwable or objects you can sling at enemies. The story was enjoyable to play through and did somethings I didn't expect.
10/10 Worth a buy.
This game simply is a masterpice of a storygame and still challenges you enough to not feel like a boring walking simulator(I personally dont see the appeal of games where all I can do is inspect my surroundings.)
The best part is that the characters all are very well written as is the story.
Also the setting of a plagued france is portrait in a very fitting and immersive way.
All of this is achieved by having a very polished art and music design which on the other hand is backed by fantastic writing which all together make every level and every sequence feel unique interesting and still not loose the overall picture.
This game simply shows the passion that Asobo Studio put into making this game the best story and character driven experience.
You simply feel for the characters and their situations and everything that happens leaves a meaningfull impact on you.
I LOVED this game. It's a really great game to experience. It has some combat, stealth, alchemy, and puzzles in it but it's mostly a storytelling game between a girl and her ill brother as "shit hits the fan" and you two are surviving the harsh world they live in.
Even though I have a good pc, I was still amazed how great this game looked. U know there are rats in the game and they looked good compared to how many there are on-screen at a time. I was just shocked my fps wasn't tanking cuz of how much was going on-screen.
The story isn't SO good that you're still wondering what happened after you play it. It's just here's a nice simple story from beginning to end. Not many twists n' turns. Just a story about a sister/brother.
If you're on the fence, just get it. If you're semi-interested in the game you'll enjoy it.
