First time 1nsane player here. I took it because there aren't so many racing games on GOG. After playing it like 4 hours the last few days, i must say that the game is quite fun, the different modes (races, captures the flag, destruction..) are nice, there is a large number of cars as well. But you really have to enjoy 4x4 offroad racing as the cars bump and roll a bit too much, also the landscapes don't have so many details, you will often drive on completely empty fields. Near the time of its release, motocross madness was published 2, and i remember having more fun with that game (probably because of crashes and environments). Overall a good game, it might be better on multiplayer.

I followed this for a while before it came out based on the fact it had: 1) Cool grungy deformable muscle cars 2) Offroad dirt tracks and sliding Hollywood style physics. It's a very enjoyable game, and having played the 2nd and third version of it, this original remains my favorite. I'd give it 5 stars except for the fact the difficulty curve is a bit wrong. Easy mode is too easy and the modes above get very hard very quickly, causing you to restart the races quite alot. Anyway - I loved playing it and still fire it up even today to have a burn around. Infact the graphics and physics engine don't seem to have aged at all.

Good racing game that has a lot of vehicles to race (buggies through to 8x8 trucks) & a lot of locations to race on in the various race modes. Even has a terrain randomiser to create 'custom' locations.

Playing this over LAN at a friends house would have everyong laughing so much it's hard to to even drive from A to B.
