In the near future we learn we are not alone in the universe. A mysterious alien race of giant entities arrives. We call them the Occupants.
They are not hostile, but it doesn’t matter. Their arrival is a death sentence. Humanity is wiped out in a matter of months, succumbing to a disease the Occupants have brought to our planet.
There is one survivor, a teenage girl called Iris. Somehow she is immune.
1000 years later. Iris is not only immune but immortal. She has birthed a new society consisting exclusively of her own clones.
She calls them Sisters. They call her the ALLMOTHER.
Unlike the ALLMOTHER, the sisters are not immune. They must wear masks 24/7 to avoid breathing the diseased air even in the Orchard - an underground bunker where they live in constant fear of an Occupant attack.
The ALLMOTHER lives in her own compound on the front line of the war with the Occupants. All Sisters dream of one day being able to take the train and join her in the fight.

Your role is unique. You have the great privilege of reliving and interpreting the memories of the ALLMOTHER through a process known as Communion, made possible by Secretary, your floating AI companion.

Your closest sister, Fixer, comes to you with a dangerous revelation. You have been lied to. The ALLMOTHER is not what she claims to be.

After Fixer is executed for her treason, it falls to you to discover the truth.

Great! but it's almost a visual novel
It's a fun experience, but the gameplay is just exploration and walk up to people and talk to them. Occasionally there are simple puzzles. What makes this one worth your time is the story, characters and presentation. Hekki Grace

Unique work of art
Amazing premise that grips you early and never let's go, until the end. Beautiful and understated voice acting that gives dose of viceral realism and human touch to the otherwise very out there setup for a story. Also, much more funny than I expected! Aestetics are a bit of an aquired taste, but they worked for me (very much so). If you like avanguard art and, now and then, want to try something new in form of video game, I highly recommend this title!

Weirdly compelling
TL;DR: Recommended. A surreal trip through the lives of 6 sister/clones. The graphics and storywriting are excellent, constantly twisting, lots of wft moments. Memory tripping can be a little weird/disorientating at times. Pros: Heavily narrative driven. Story is excellent and gradually revealed through multiple, almost random memories. Memories have a space with things/people in that you can interact with and then jump back or forwards to a different time frame. Each memory space has its own feeling and graphics. Some puzzles require you to get clues from different time frames to solve. Cons: The spaces are big, often corridor-like, so you can spend a lot of time running. Some of the transistions between memories are jaring and disorientating - camera angles and colours change wildly.

A compelling walking simulator
1000xRESIST is a simple walking simulator, where you run around trying to piece together the clues of the ALLMOTHER's life to figure out the truth. It's a very compelling story, and I always wanted to know what would happen next so I just kept playing and playing until I made it to the end. If you're a fan of narrative-driven experiences, this is worth playing, though I found the tale a little cryptic at times that I'm not sure if it landed as well as it could have for me.
