Hey there! I'm not writing this comment expecting the game to have a chance to be revived on GOG (even if I would be delighted if so), because we are talking about an ex title from Ubisoft, which requires servers for multiplayer... I know it's unlikely, compared to the competition.
Nevertheless! There are so many things I want to share, and so few characters!
GRP was my first multiplayer online shooter, and although I'm probably quite biased thanks to the nostalgia, I'm still pretty sure it was exceptional in many regards.
For me, it was mainly the gamefeel and atmosphere (music was top-notch), the freedom of movement (running, crouching, climbing, sliding, crawling, shoulder switch, smooth cover system...), the variety of weapon, the techs (big fan of Cloak even if most dismiss it as not very useful), most of the map and their design, the intense fighting (thankfully the respawn time wasn't too long, I was a bit reckless) and the tactical teamplay.
I guess the only things I regret is how the monetization restricted the future of the game; and not playing with friends more. A few friends introduced me to the game, but they all stopped pretty quickly. So even though we made a clan, I barely had occasions to actually train or planify with a team before starting a match.
Anyway, anyway.
GRP is definitely in my top 5 of all the games I ever played, I really miss it, I still dream about it, and I know quite a few others also do (there is an independent project looking into how to revive it, and a surprising amount of ex-players have manifested their interest).
I also believe GRP had everything in terms of gameplay to go much bigger, and that a lot of people have no idea of this game they would have absolutely loved.
I hope some day those people will get the occasion to discover and enjoy it.
Still hoping, still believing.
Also, if you ever read this, even though you probably all had other game projects: thanks to all of you developers who made GRP what it was.
