there was one of those kid's party house places that my mom would go to to talk business with the owner, and I would always ask to go with her because the guy that handled the arcade machines would turn this machine on and let me play for free! since the place was not open yet, only a few dim lights and the arcade machine were on in this dark lower ground floor, I was like 6 or 7 and the shotgun light gun was kinda too big and heavy but I still loved playing it. I was literally trembling whenever I got to the FOOL fight (the big-ass sloth thing) because I swore it would get me from behind. These renditions of all the HOTD design are by far my favorite, and it has this greyish-green atmosphere I can't find anywhere else. I think the first time I actually managed to finish the game was when I got my hands on the Wii version that let you 9 credits 9 lives.
The PC port of this game is alright and playable, but with a few tweaks for modern resolutions and systems and bringing the higher res textures from the arcade, this could be a really nice preserved title. SEGA licensed the first 2 games to be remake, so there's some interest growing again.
