Ok this may not be one of the best RPG of all time but it was my first experience of a game like that and I loved it. It deserve to be preserved. There is almost no way to play it nowadays. It would be a shame to lose its magic atmosphere.
A game I stopped playing the first time around because I got scared of the monsters once they started appearing, having to wait a couple years to work up both the courage and understanding to overcome my fears and not be kept from a world I so dearly loved. The atmosphere is consistent, vivid, and wondrously varied throughout the numerous "islands" the world got shattered into. And the music is just divine.
Tied to my early teenage, this game was a gift from my dad by his own initiative. He bought it in supermarket (at that time you could find these very cheap PC games in the tech section, in Italy they were distributed by Microforum) following the indication of a probably not so expert employee; after my dad asked for help to him, mentioning I loved games like "Zelda" and "Gaybrush" (he was trying to say "Guybrush" correctly), the guy quickly looked at the CD boxes at hand and found this. He thought this was a good mix between the 2 genres, or that's how my dad presented his gift to me.

After years of gaming I have never found a game like this again. It is a specific niche that you remember but just can't replicate completely (like playing Ultima 7 the first time) Fantasy RPG trading game, traveling to different planes using portals, upgrading your magic bag used for transporting merchandise, learning skills and spells from factions and trying to balance your reputation with the various gods while slowly uncovering the deeper story and balancing your karma so you don't get locked out of choices. The graphics is a bit dated and combat is janky but it was a lot of fun and I think a modern version of this game would be huge. Still play it sometimes and would buy the GOG version if there was one.
First, when I discovered this game, I didn't understand the mechanics and was wandering around, trying to survive, thinking that the game was awful. Then, I realised the potential of it and I couldn't stop playing until my computer crashed. Never had the chance to install it again cause the original CD was broken :(

I loved it! I got it when I was young, about 13 years old. It was wonderfull time. Not only this game, but exactly this one and Settlers 2! Still play it sometimes too and would buy the GOG version with all new-made patches.

I only played this game for a short time as a kid before the game was lost, but there is something about it that has stuck in my mind for over 20 years and i haven't been able to find it since. There is something really familar yet unique about the gameplay and the world system that makes me yearn for a replay.
