What can I say about a game that improved on RE4?
It's a tactical game, a shooter, a game where hordes of monsters come at you, thirsty for blood.
And you, what do you do?
Do what you do best. Shoot. With pistols, shotguns, rifles, bazookas, machine guns, grenades, and whatever else you can get your hands on. Even a bow and arrow works.
It's Resident Evil reinvented in 2009, when people thought the franchise was dead.
It's Chris Redfield, handsome, strong, big, powerful, hot, gorgeous, punching a giant rock to save her:
Sheva Alomar, beautiful, hot, strong, brutal, perfect at shooting, and the human, sensitive side of this duo. Simple and perfect.
Want more? Yes, She, our Queen, is back after (at that time) being a bit absent:
Jill Valentine. Muse, Goddess, Perfect, Owner of our hearts and master of locked locks.
Want more? YES!!!
The best villain of all time, strong, hot, powerful, scoundrel, but LOVED by all of us in a tribute worthy of the great masters of villainy in video games:
Albert Wesker.
Is Resident Evil cliché? Yes.
Is it exaggerated? Yes.
Is it almost devoid of horror? No.
Does it feel more like a Call of Duty game? Yes.
But it has the best Mercenaries mode of all time, It has the best chainsaw monster of all time and the most stylish megaphone-wielding enemy with sunglasses imaginable.
That's precisely why we love this game. It's forever in our hearts with its incredible and challenging DLCs, and its excellent optimization in the PC version, so much so that any laptop made in 2010 without a dedicated graphics card can run the game.
It's delightful, it's so fun to play, it's shooting monsters in the face, it's Chris in Ronnie Coleman mode, it's Jill Valentine, beautiful and deadly, and it's Albert Wesker, cheesy and wonderful just the way we wanted.
Thank you Capcom.
Thank you Gog, when you bring this game back.
