King daddy of cyberpunk video games. Fairly short and hampered by the technology of the time (that, and the fact it was originally written for the CD-i platform), it was, nevertheless, quite stylish, and fun. Not to mention the killer techno soundtrack. In fact, they included and audio CD of the soundtrack along with the game. How many times did THAT happen in the 90s?

I grew up playing this game on the CD:I I could never beat it, my parents always ended up helping me. I guess my reflexes weren't fast enough or I just didn't understand what the game wanted me to do at that point. Still, never stopped me trying! I'd love the opportunity to go back and try it all again, and hopefully finish it, as my parents did for me. Please, GOG!

One of the worst videogames i ever player mechanicaly speaking, it's broken, full of stupid mechanics and infuriating gameplay sections, but the fmv has its own charm and cheesynes that demands to be restored and preserved
You have Zombie Dinos from Planet Zeltoid but not Burn:Cycle. As much as I like to kick some brain, I need to curry some data. Something something stupid Flanders. (also, please include the ORIGINAL version of the soundtrack CD, the "Remastered" version available on streaming is awful)
This was my first ever cyberpunk game. Great story, puzzles, etc. You only had a limited time to beat the game, which made the experience more heartburn:cycle than just the standard burn. Such a great game.

I Spent 3 days straight in the 90's doing nothing but sleeping, drinking water, using the bathroom and playing this game till I beat it. I was 12 at the time and its the first game that had me obsessed like that. I still actually own the original CD-rom with the case. (But it's obsolete so I can't actually figure out how to play it. I would love the chance to go back and revisit My first Obsession in the PC gaming world. Plus its Video capure and Cyberpunk! What's not to love? Please GOG.

This was one of the first FMV games I'd played as a teen, and the first M rated game I ever played and completed. This was huge. Not sure how well the story aged, but it taught me some valuable philosophical lessons as a teen.
Damn, I played this game of often and today I am stil listening to the magnifical soundtrack. Sends me back to the cyberpunk time from the 90s. I liked the story, the actors and even the weird ending a lot
Why "Burn Cycle" is such a prominent PC Game, this is literally the first "CYBERPUNK" video game ever created. This is were "CYBERPUNK" all began, is with this game. Yes, these days these graphics are absolutely outdated, but this is the beginning. This is where our story begins literally with (PANASONIC 3DO VIDEO GAME CONSOLE CD-i) The company that brought "Burn Cycle" to the table, that was produced by a company called (Trip Media) They started making this game in 1984 and finished it in 1991. This was the first time that a game company used a blue screen to film a real time pc video game with real actors playing out content character role creation instead of the gaming company using graphics or animated designs. This was before they used green screens, they had the green screens, but decided to use the blue screens. The green screens would have been better, but back then they didn't think the game would have come out on video better, I guess! This is a one player game, it's a long mental strategy game with an awesome storyline and some really cool characters. And, the special effects are the coolest for the 1990s, in fact for a "CYBERPUNK" Video game from this era. It is very important that this original "CYBERPUNK" game gets put back into the swing of the mix of things. "BURN CYCLE" is or it should be put back into succession, because this game is a virtual classic!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Dune
DuneDune is a 1992 video game, based upon Frank Herbert's science fiction novel of the same name. Developed by Cryo Interactive, is the first of the Dune computer games. Dune blended adventure with economic and military strategy, and is considered by many the most immersive Dune computer game. Loosely following the story of the novel, the game casts the player as Paul Atreides, with the ultimate goal of driving the Harkonnen from Planet Dune, while managing spice extraction, military, and later, ecology through the native Fremen tribes. As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.
